I have a question for everybody. Who here has taken the Delta flight to Japan, then on to Detroit? If you have taken it please let me know how it was, what all you liked and disliked?

Delta is ok but I prefer Korean Air. The cheap coach seat on Korean air gets much of the same treatment as the First class seat on Delta.

It's just OK, just don't expect much. Flight attendants from Asian airlines (EVA, Korean, Aseana) are more courteous though. Is Detroit your last stop or you have a connecting flight? Make sure you have at least 2-3 hours gap if you have a connecting flight, immigration can take so long if a lot of travelers arrive the same time you do.

Good thing is you get to detroit... Mnl-NGO is 4 hours and NGO-DTW is 12 hours about. All the 747's at delta are just about done getting upgraded so good chance you will get your own in seat entertainment. Ya, of course asian flight attendents are better, might as well get use to the snobby women in the states right off the bat, haha.

Asian Flight attendants are much younger and really courteous, while on Delta they kinda seem a lil bit old and snubbish.

Thanks everybody.... I know Asian carriers are ALOT better but quite frankly due to my budget I have to go with Delta. I know it sucks but it's what I have to go with. Just trying to get people's experiences is all.

Everyone forgets about safety, american carriers are the safest. Delta has an impecable record. Enjoy your flight.

Just watched a special And Asiana Airlines was the best airline in the world currently, definitely a great airline.

If you are flying coach, it makes no difference. Service sucks in all airlines, in coach, beginning with the seats themselves.

Actually according to Skytrax, Qatar Airlines is the best. I am a frequent flyer through them, but this time they were $400 more a ticket to the USA. Detroit is not my final stop, it is my POE onward to NC.

I flew American Airlines from manila to japan to detroit. I flew coach. The only complaint I had is that there is very little leg room for a 6' 1" man like myself. I did ask and the stewardess were kind enough to find me an isle seat to stretch out now and again. If you are a smoker, both Japan and Detroit have smoking areas inside the airports. Security is tight in both of these airports so security is not a problem. The food is good and the service is good. Overall i would rate my experiences as pleasant.

My major complaint is the headphones for the tv monitors hardley worked, you had to fiddle around with it while it was plugged in to get any sound and then only on one ear bud. I hated that.

I had a bad experienced with Delta, I was so over fatigued from the flight that I had to remain seated with my eyes closed even after all the passengers except another fellow filipina had already left. Despite being in such state not a single steward/ess that walked pass me ever bothered to asked me if I was okay. The other Filipina was asking the flight stewardess for assistance with her luggage that was tightly lodged on the overhead compartment. The stewardess which was in her late 40's rudely told her that she can't lift anything heavy whatsoever and she should ask someone else to help her. I was shocked!!! I felt bad for the other Filipina. I was in no shape to help her at all as I barely have the energy to stand up. I didn't even have the energy to go talk to her or anything. unsure.gif

I'm sorry and don't take this personal, but it's Delta's fault you were fatigued? That's called jet-lag and not drinking enough water. And its all airlines policy that flight attendants can't lift peoples heavy bags. Sorry to hear about your bad experience
