It is funny. I tried to post the video here but for some reason it wouldn't work, so I had to settle for the link.

There is something that simply does not jive with this rhetoric.

If one can build a successful business in a vacuum, without the interference from government or others, then it would stand to reason that the notion that any specific administration can help build or destroy any business is a fallacy.

In success, if you did build this - thanks to no one else - then the same should stand true in all those cases where business fail, and you can't blame anyone else, really, for a failure, but yourself.

That's the funny thing. If they build it and it succeeds, it was all them.

If they build it and it fails, it's the fault of the government.

You're getting a hang of it. See what watching the Republican convention can accomplish?

I'd like to say I came out of it feeling smarter, but ...

So if I work 70 hours a week to build a house and an arsonist burns it down is it not true I built it and someone else burned it down. So it is possible for one build and another to destroy.

Liberal logic is insane. So if you reverse your logic you are agreeing with Obama that it takes the government to build a business.

I don't think anyone is is saying that if a business fails it is the governments fault. They are saying get the government out of the way and let us succeed or fail on our own merits.

What it takes is more than a person in a vacuum. That is all that Obama has said - regardless of the distortions that Republicans are busy spreading around - and that remains true. There's a reason that people in the developed world are by far more able to build businesses than those in places that lack all the basics we take for granted every day. Try to go to a little island all by yourself and build that successful business. Good Luck!

Our President disagrees with the both of you.

In his State of the Union Address, President Obama highlighted the importance of making America a better place to do business saying, "to help our companies compete, we also have to knock down barriers that stand in the way of their success. To reduce barriers to growth and investment, I've ordered a review of government regulations. When we find rules that put an unnecessary burden on businesses, we will fix them ..."
