Hi guys,

Happy to say I am done! :) Had my interview scheduled at 9:30 am, arrived around 8:30am, was called in at 9:20 and was out by 9:30. The officer-lady was extremely nice, went over my application, asked about my husband who I filed for as LPR, and noted that once I am done today I can upgrade him and he can join me soon. Than asked:

1) who is our governor?

2) Where is Statute of Liberty?

3) who is MLK?

4) Name two Fed Holidays?

5) Who was 1st President?

6) What rights do you gain as US Citizen?

Than I read "When is President's day?" and wrote "The President lives in the White House".

Than I was told to come back at 3:15 for the Ceremony. Ceremony was great and quick and I was done by 4:30.

Next step is passport on Friday in the Passport Agency since I am traveling on the 25th :dance:

To day is one of the coldest days here in town... Temp around 10 degrees below Zero. The icy roads were very slicky.

I reached the USCIS DO 10 mins before the scheduled time of interview. I was allowed to carry my mobile phone with me inside the building but was advised to keep it totally switched off by the security. I waited for about 15 mins in the lobby and was greeted by the IO who led me to her office. After exchange of some pleasantries, I was told the whole proceedings would be videotaped under oath. She took my Passport, State issued DL and the GC.

She went through my application line by line and asked me questions ... Name, SSN, DOB, Country of Birth, marital status, my Home address, day time telephone number, how long I am in the present address, my present and previous employers, total number of trips and the number of days outside US (I had 198 days in 10trips incl two cruises), my wife's name, the date of marriage, her DOB, her status in US, names of my children and their current addresses. She specifically asked me if I had made any single trip involving 180 days are more during the last 5 years. She verified some Port of Entry stamps in my passport. Then she asked me all the questions verbatum from the application for which all my answers were "NO". The answers were "YES" for the questions on "Oath requirements". Then she made me sign the two photographs, which were with the application

For the Reading and Writing Test, she made me read "Where is the White House?" and asked me to write "The White House is in Washington DC"

Then followed the Civics test:

1. What is the Highest Court in US? (The supreme Court)

2. Who is your Vice President? (Mr. Joe Biden)

3. How many amendments does the Constitution have? (27)

4. Who makes Federal Laws? (The Congress)

5.Why did the colonists fight the British? (Because of high taxes)

6. Who was the President during the Great Depression and World war II? (FDR - Franklin Delano Roosevelt)

She congratulated me and gave me a letter stating that I have passed the tests of English and US history and Govt and my application has been recommended for approval.

She also gave me the Oath letter and told me that the ceremony would be on coming Friday 21st Dec 2012. [Which happens to be the Winter Solstice day ... the shortest day (2 Hrs) and longest night (22Hrs) in Alaska] She returned back my Passport, DL and GC. She advised me to bring the GC and return it to USCIS staff during the ceremony, while collecting the Certificate of Naturalization.

The whole proceedings took exactly 10 minutes as announced by her, during the video recording.

oh man dealing with immigration requires a LOT OF patience!! it has been 72 days since I did my early bio, my green card anniversary date is Dec 23 and yet the last update on my status is October 3rd when the biometric letter was sent out!! and the status is still stuck on INITIAL REVIEW!!!

hey guys, a quick question - does the status online change once you are scheduled for an interview and the notice is sent? i've been in line to be scheduled for the interview since early november and have not heard anything so far. thanks!

hey guys, a quick question - does the status online change once you are scheduled for an interview and the notice is sent? i've been in line to be scheduled for the interview since early november and have not heard anything so far. thanks!

Based on the date stamps on my papers, I presume "In line for interview scheduling" means NBC has completed their preliminary process. Then they send the files to local DO for adjudication based on PDs. (Perhaps you are in that time slot)

When the local DO schedules the interview within their busy schedule, and sends you the letter the message changes to "Scheduled for interview" . Some DOs are lazy in updating the web site and you may not see any updates at all even after receing the IL.

It is a well known fact USCIS websites are never updated regularly.

You can see my timeline below. (Please, remember my DO is never busy compared to mainland and things move pretty fast. I could not attend my interview on the scheduled date as I was on a vacation trip. I had an INFOPASS and requested for rescheduling. The day after I returned from my trip, there was a call from local DO asking me if I would be available for Interview 5 days later. I accepted and completed it successfully. I am having my Oath ceremony today which turns out to be the 100th day in this whole process!!!

DO: Anchorage AK (5 year GC anniversary day 6th Dec 2012)

09/13/2012 .. N/400 sent to USCIS Lock Box Phoenix AZ .. (day 1)

09/17/2012 .. Priority date .. (Day 5)

09/26/2012 .. FP completed .. (Day14)

11/06/2012 .. LUD (In line for interview scheduling) .. (Day 55)

11/16/2012 .. LUD (Interview scheduled) .. (Day 65)

11/17/2012 .. IL received .. (Day 66)

12/10/2012 .. Interview (Day 89) .. Requested for reschedule.

12/18/2012 .. Passed interview on the rescheduled date .. (Day 97)

12/21/2012 .. Oath Scheduled .. (Day 100)
