Good luck to you I did EB in ATL in July. It's up to the guard, but there was hardly a soul there when I went and I was in and out within 15-20 minutes. Save yourself some time - leave cell phone and any purse/bag in the car or they'll send you back. Just carry your letter, passport and GC and nothing else. Smile - be nice, it goes a long way. They *can* turn you away if they're busy, so being prepared gets you some merit points

I don't live quite as far away but I was in the area 2 weeks before my appointment date, and took a chance that they'd accommodate, and they did. Staff were very nice, and I let them know how much I appreciated being served early.

Thanks for the info! I was wondering if anyone else had tried it! I had done it at a different service center before for my green card early with no problems. If they say no it's ok I can come back just would save the extra running... I'll most definitely be super polite! What time of day did you go in?

I went in about 10:15 in the morning, and I was done in 15 or 20 minutes. There was one man ahead of me. He had his cell phone and made a fuss about returning it to his car. I'd left my cell but had my purse (expected it to be checked). That first guard was kind of grumpy so it was my good luck that I had to return to my vehicle. When I came back, I was faster than the fussy man. I passed more people on their way in and gave them a heads up to return their bags to their cars too, so I was the first one back. Different guard this time. I just explained that today was not my appointment day but I happened to be in the area and thought I'd give it a go. He was very nice, said it was my lucky day because it was quiet. I could see technicians standing around chatting with each other. He let me in, gave me a clipboard and showed me where to sit to fill in the information.

There were a handful of people already in the seating area filling in their information - I was quicker than them (English being my first language was probably why), then I queued up behind 2 or 3 people, handed in the clipboard and was given a numbered ticket and shown where to wait. Nobody else in the chairs and the last number served was 2 numbers before me. I barely had myself on a chair, a technician called the number before me (3 times... not sure where that person was but she appeared just before they moved to the next number). Then right behind that technician, another came and called my number. So I didn't even have time to warm the chair Fingerprints and photo (I'd sent in photos with my application - she took more)... she even took my picture twice because she didn't like the first one! Showed me it was a "good hair day" and I was done. They have survey cards to fill in before you leave, I left positive comments and appreciation for taking me early.
