Hello Vjer's can anyone tell me if i should admend my taxes to add more for the adjustment stauts? I have a 1099 that has 60k in wages, but i never filed it because it came later after i had already filed. My previous income was less 19k. I have a household of 4 including my fiance, would be 5. My current job is 36k. I just don't know what to do??? :help: Thanks

So you weren't planning on amending if you didn't file AOS? How can you forget or not know that you'd have an additional $60k in income? I can see $100 or $200, but $60,000? Wowzer! For sure that needs to be amended and the appropriate taxes paid.

well i didn't know anything about having to meet the requirement for AOS. Do i have to have 32k to marry him for previous year taxes? or just 2012 taxes? please explain. thank you.

If you are self-employed then it will based on line 22 of your 2011 1040. If you are an employee, then it will be based on your current annual income.

You need at least $33,762 for a household of 5. If you are self-employed and your 2011 tax return does not reflect enough, then you will want to file an amendment for sure. http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf
