I live with the fact I even contemplated harming my child and I will forever carry that guilt :(

If something did happen, should you have beared the consequences of your actions or not...

I would of punished myself enough. I wouldn't of been a stone cold murderer. There is a difference.

um, wenchie, could you change the location on your profile? i saw wog boy's post suddenly say 25 oct and i thought i'd missplaced a day there! :P

Oh yay, a man weighing in on my choices! :angry:

ALso (dictionary.com):

fe tus

Embryology (used chiefly of viviparous mammals) the young of an animal in the womb or egg, esp. in the later stages of development when the body structures are in the recognizable form of its kind, in humans after the end of the second month of gestation.

Almost all abortions take place in the first 8 weeks, when it is an EMBRYO, not a fetus.

Heartbeat = alive

Mice have heartbeats too, but that doesn't make them persons.

Yeah, the issue isn't whether or not the fetus is alive; everyone would agree that, biologically speaking, a fetus is alive. The question is rather whether a woman has the right to decide what happens inside of her own body and whether or not a government can force someone to gestate and give birth.

Personally, I don't think she was desperate or suicidal; she did what she wanted -- walked away from this all baby-free. I am pro-choice, and I think the more we limit access to medical abortions, the more stories like this we will read. I think abortion is immoral; it's a terrible thing, but I think it's even more terrible for a government to force someone to carry a pregnancy to term and then give birth to a child they don't want.

If you're allowed to kill a man's child he should also have a choice. :whistle:

No govt is forcing women to have sex. If you don't want a baby don't have sex... it's soooooooo simple.

I can't help but wonder how different peoples reactions and the media's coverage would be, had she died from her injuries.

I feel sure there would have been more compassion for her mental instability then.

I can (sort of) understand your position on abortion, but are you opposed even to birth control?
