There is nothing in the constitution that gives you the right to kill an innocent person.

Foetuses are not persons. Unborn = not a person.

Heartbeat = alive

that is your opinion-it does not mean that everyone else should feel the same way.

So where does one draw the line? In a hypothectical situation, is it ok then for a mother in a similar circumstances to kill her, lets say, 3rd child if the child was 5 days old?? Really what is the difference...

No, it's not ok. Birth is the line at which the law recognises that a baby may be murdered.

Abortion is abortion - the fetus dies, one way or another.

Does it make a difference whether it was shot or sucked out with a vacuum pump?

 it's still murder

 on this, agreed (especially when the vacuum pump oft involves as prep piercing with DULL scissors)

we wouldn't even be talking about "abortion" which this has nothing to do with if the judge had said "it's not illegal to shoot yourself"

I don't think anyone would start a thread railing against guns because one desperate woman, who happened to be pregnant, shot herself. Would it be different if she shot herself in the head? The fetus would probably not have survived either way.

She was possibly moments away from giving birth AND I thought most states consider it murder if the baby is more than three months in the womb????

or we could advocate that the title could have been "oral sex keeps the anti-abortion and gun rights crowd happy"

Mice have heartbeats too, but that doesn't make them persons.

It does make them alive and I dare say they have animal rights of some sort as well.

That at least would have shown her desperation in my opinion.... maybe would have called for compassion then but the way it stands now... she was just desperate to kill her baby.

By that logic then it would be OK to kill a fetus moments before birth.

I live with the fact I even contemplated harming my child and I will forever carry that guilt :(

If something did happen, should you have beared the consequences of your actions or not...

I would of punished myself enough. I wouldn't of been a stone cold murderer. There is a difference.

...which was the logic used for Roe v Wade in the first place, as well as that behind BillyBubba's refusal to sign the Partial-birth-abortion Ban!
