I got a September interview date, but everybody said I should have the medical first. If not there would be a delay in issuance of visa. I tried to re-sked the interview but no dates are available till March 2013 and beyond.

My question is:

How much delay would be the issuance of visa if I do interview first then the medical?

Would it be as worse as March 2013 interview date (if available so far none)

Try by any means to make it and get it done. The wait may not be too bad, you wil get a 221g form and then have to provide the med results by way of 2go I think.

Delay? Maybe add a month to your wait after the interview... maybe.

On the other hand I would not do the medical too early if you are looking at March for your interview date as the validity of the visa is tied to the date of the medical, max 6 months.

I cancelled my September interview which is next week and check the first available. Guess what no available date. Went further 2013 all dates are unavailable. Its a good thing when I re-sched the original September is still there so I took it again. I will also try calling the 214-number.

My US Embassy interview date is for September 4.

So this is my dilemma:

Do medical first, take a chance of not getting an interview date till ...? (Forever) so far no dates available maybe 2014? who knows?

Do interview on Sept 4 then medical. As Hank mentioned maybe a maybe a month delay in Visa issuance. Not a bad trade off

What do you guys think?

That is definately an option, to do your medical after your interview. But, let me also reassure you that interview slots are NOT booked through 2012. Kennard just booked his interview today and got a September interview.
