Today after a very long AP I received my and my family's passport back with a letter which say's " Validity of passports should be at least eight months to issue Immigrant visa, Please validate the passports ( My and family members name ). Please submit your passports to nearest VFS office ,so we can complete the processing of your case ".

Is this a good sign . Kindly share your experience.

Today I received our Passports with a letter from US Embassy that "We have retained your passports to more quickly process your visa.when the processing is complete we will send your passports and visa to you via VFS."

After receiving of passports I called the VFS and told them that when the letter says" we have retained your passports" then why these were delivered by you to me. The VFS person asked me send an e- mail to Embassy regarding this error. So I sent an e-mail to US Embassy with scanned copy of their letters, in which they asked me to submit validated passports to VFS to issue visa dt.27,aug,2012 and todays letter's scanned copy.

did anybody faced a similar situation before ? Any suggestion ?

Thanks in advance.

I will post my time line shortly.
