hi there my vj friends the us consulate in nairobi had emailed my attorney in regards to the date change for my wifes interview it was originally september 5,2012 now it is october 3,2012. i emailed the embassy a week ago asking for an expedited appointment because i am in kenya with my wife and wanted to be there for her interview before i return back to the states for school on the 6th of september but they said they were fully booked and to come on her original date..... a week later I receive this news today that they have changed it...please help me anybody how to get my appointment kept the same date or earlier then october i really want to be there and come back with my wife is she is approved inshallah....

I am not sure if the date change has occured because of a riot occuring in mombasa where i am currently located and traveling is a bit dangerous now. I have not read any travel warnings on the us travel or consulate website in this regards.....please if anyone has had a date change for the kenya consulate let me know because i am totally depressed right now

You already emailed them and asked them to change it and they said they couldn't schedule it sooner. You could try calling them and speaking to them. Other than that, there really isn't much more you can do I don't think. Give them a call and see what happens. I hope it all works out for you. Good luck.

Getting that date changed is like pulling teeth. Before my wife got approved. We had a 5 week wait between the physical and the interview. We too tried to get our date moved up. The consulars even said we should try that since we had plenty of time. It didn't work. We emailed and called many times. We even know people who work in the Embassy who tried to get it changed for us. Still it never happened. So we gave up and made the best of it. If you do get your date moved. Don't forget that the passport and visa are returned by DHL. That could take up to two weeks, sometimes longer.

they emailed me the stating that for unavoidable reasons they have changed her appointment. What the hell does this mean???

Honestly, I think you're going to have a really hard time changing it. They've already said no more than once. You're going to have to take it for what it is...otherwise you are going to cause yourself more unneeded stress and aggravation which you don't need. It means what it means...they changed it because they had to. Just try to relax and look on the positive side of the situation. Everything happens for a reason. This will give you more time to prepare yourselves and maybe gather more relationship evidence if you need to, proofread your paperwork, etc. I know you wanted to travel back to the states with your wife, as I wanted Ben to come home with me, but it didn't work out for us that way either. I'm sorry you are so distressed, but in the big scheme of things...it's not the end of the world. Chin up :star:
