Resurrecting thread, si man.

Mrs. T-B.'s interview is Mon., Dec. 10. If she passes (not at all guaranteed -- see "Mrs. T-B. & the Citizenship Test" thread in Off Topic forum), word has it that the Houston oath ceremony is the next day -- Tues., Dec. 11.

1. Nowhere in this thread is it said where the ceremony is held -- precise address, name of facility, indoors or outdoors.

2. Is it really adequate to get there closer to 9 a.m., rather than showing up by 7 a.m.? Where would overflow parking be? How long would the line of immigrants be, at that time?

3. Is it correct that the following is all that's officially needed: N-445 letter, current & expired green cards, and a pen?

Any other hindsight-enlightened tips will be appreciated pronto, si man.

T-B...it's a large gymnasium with balcony seating in addition to regular high school gym first level seating.

Aldine ISD, M.O. Campbell Center 1865 Aldine Bender Rd, Houston, TX

That's roughly near Beltway 8 and the Hardy Toll Road. Your interview is in the same part of town. Interview is on the west side of the Hardy. MO Campbell is on the east side of the Hardy.

I'd go for 8:30 and expect to sit in the balcony area. The line is longest prior to 7 am I bet. They have bunches of check in desks...well organized by alphabet to get everybody in and out. They have 1800 parking spaces...surface lots on each side of the building. Go in and out of the parking from the back side road Aldine Meadows. That's what we did. Aldine Bender was quite congested with traffic and a traffic light. the ceremony starts at 10:30.

I think that's all Mr. N-N took. I doubt you will get the December ceremony if her interview is the day before. More likely to be Jan 16. If all goes well at the interview, they will give you the ceremony letter about 30 minutes after she leaves the interview room. It has instructions and the worst map you will ever see. Useless.

You guys should come up and see us afterwards. I'll fix lunch and the munchkin can run around and be cranky because it will be a l-o-n-g boring morning for him.

Gracias, N-Bone -- utterly helpful, si man. Appreciate the invite. If we can accept (depends on the steakling, Mini-B.), he will be a wild man, si man.

We will need to do another Houston Visajourney getogether dinner
Do it regardless, si man! Need to promote it early and separately in Off Topic.

Well let me know because I don't read off-topic.

And T-B...I don't mind if your kid is wild and crazy. I taught school and can shut out chaos and go with the flow. Mr. N-N is mesmerizing to tots, so we'll send them in the yard to play. Come by after the interview if you like. You think she's ready for the test yet? You must not be a good tutor.

N-Bone, go to Off Topic and read "Mrs. T-B. & the Citizenship Test" in its entirety, or at least the last few pages, sigh man. T-minus 14 hours and counting, and T-B. the Tutor is going down with the ship, sigh man (hear the loud sucking sound?). And gracias for the invite for tomorrow, thankee man, but the weather is already beginning to suck as of this writing.

Tamara-Bone, Saturdays are always best, and Sundays always suck, see man.
