This question is in regards to the i-129F form for a petition for an alien fiance. I am a US citizen but I have been living in the Dominican Republic for two years, where my Fiance lives. On the form, what address do I put for myself? Where I reside here or in the US at my permanent address? If I put my address in the United States won't that interfere with the proof of our ongoing relationship here, since I live with him in the Dominican Republic? Plus, I want everything mailed to the address in the United States because that is where my parents live. Which address do I put on the form???

You put where you are living. You have been there for 2 years. This issue has been brought up time and again. You were not there for a visit. You admittedly have been living there for 2 years. Do you think that the US Gov't doesn't know that you have not been living and working in the US.

Bottom line. Always tell the truth. You will fill out your residence for the last 5 years. No need to open up a can of worms that may haunt you later.

You will need a co-sponsor. Does Dominican Republic allow cosponsors?

Should you want to read about a similar situation about address concerns, you can read this thread... Specifically, read post #31 by Pushbrk. Where you see Canada in that post, you will insert Dominican Republic

Additionally, have you thought about marrying there and filing CR1?

If not, I would suggest you consider it. The only difference with CR1 is you will have to address issues regarding domicile in US.

I stand corrected, then. I did not take in consideration that he would be basically hiding information on the G325A.

It's OK C&C. You are always responsible with your posts.!!good.gif

The point here is that this isn't just a visit. This person has admitted to "living" in the Dominican Republic for the last 2 years.

To the OP: Read the qualifications for the I-129F... There is not the burden of ongoing relationship at this point. That will be addressed during the K1 process. This is the petition that allows your fiance to file the K1.

Not according to Pushbrk, who is normally spot on.

Tell the truth on your forms. If you've been living in Canada (in this case Dominican Republic), you've been living in Canada...........

..........................

..........Any lies will have devastating impact on the process though.........

His response to another K1 petitioner who had been living in Canada for several years in regard to address question.

They can put the US address as where they intend to live. But, when the question arises as to where the OP has lived (and currently living).... 2 out of the last 5 years have been out of the country and that question can not be avoided. That would be perjury. The OP actually would have problems establishing domicile here in the US.

Tis best to just tell the truth. No way around the truth. If you lived 2 years in Dominican Republic and it is where you are currently living. Then that is the truth and you tell it. It isn't a debatable issue.

Have you been working the last 2 years? Filing your US Taxes? Even if you work outside of the US, as a US citizen, you are to report your worldwide income and you are suppose to file your taxes, you just may not pay any taxes... 2 different things.

You probably need to be thinking to the future and think about how you are going to pay for everything when you move back.

Your fiance will bot be able to work until EAD is obtained, that can't happen until you file for adjustment of status (another $1070)

Have you clearly thought about the entire process?

These are obviously rhetorical questions and you shouldn't answer. Just food for thought...

Good luck..

I have actually been volunteering for a school here and teaching english. I have continued to file my US taxes each year which is nothing because I am a volunteer and don't make any money. Yes, we have processed through all those questions such as where we will live, who will support us financially and we do have a co-sponsor. I guess I am confused because I don't see how this would cause a problem down the road. If I have to move back to the US to do this I will.

No, you can do this.good.gif

For I-129F You put the address where you live now as your address. Question 14 you put your parents address, which is where you plan to live (right?).

On G-325A, you have to list your residence for the last 5 years. You want your I-129F form to match up with your G325A form.

Just answer them truthfully, then you will not ever have to worry about anything.

As to problems down the road, read part on the forms when you sign them about knowingly and willfully falsifying or concealing a material fact......
