IR-1 / CR-1 Interview Question to NVC this morning

Okay, so I called the NVC this morning. Those of you who know me pretty well by now...know that's a miracle within itself!

I asked the NVC operator, "How does the interview scheduling process work for the IR-1/CR-1 visa's. I further explained to her that I am aware of the email notifications, that I do not call every day, or every week for that matter, and I just wanted general information of what to look for and "when" to look for it.

This was the answer I received:

"NVC schedules IR-1/CR-1 interviews for Nigeria in the second week of the month. This month we scheduled for September. During the second week of September we will schedule for October and so on. So always look for email notification about interviews around the second week of the month or call in and see if we have scheduled you.

They tell that to everyone. When you consider how many people just on VJ alone from several contries are without interviews for September saying "this month we scheduled for September" is questionable.

Yes...I was told exactly the same thing...!!!

I guess they schedule ALL consulates in the same manner.

I just hope there are still October slots available for our interviews.

If not, we must stay at NVC and repeat the process. :crying:

I find it hard to believe with ALL the interviews they schedule they pick one week for all countries to do it. That answer isn't plausible, sorry. Maybe thats when they notify, but schedule? Hmmmmm, makes no sense to me whatsoever, too many interviews to schedule within one week. Unless they queue them up in line on the Embassy's roster and they contact with who they scheduled. Think about it, how many case completes for June, July and August with NO September dates...how far out are we really looking at?

Yep, it does get old! Funny, from case complete until interview for Nigeria (when checking out the spreadsheet) has not been that long of a wait time in the past. Now it seems to be taking months. Not sure what has changed right here at the end of the year. But like everyone else, I'm just waiting around. I hate calling NVC because they make me feel very discouraged.

It is now geting so bad at our consulate, even the k-1ers are getting turned away. I have never seen that before. K-1 applicants not being able to schedule because booked up so far ahead.

Makes me scared that I won't be able to get in for October interview.

If not, I will have to wait again in NVC for October scheduling for a November interview....

Since the system seems to be so log jammed now, maybe Mr. Obama can grant us all amnesty. Granting our all our beneficiarys admission into the US without interview, so they can get caught up again.

Now thats a change we can believe in. They are full of doggie pooh. One thing I know with Lagos is this is Student Visa and Visitor Visa. They shut it down after first week in October for the year. And they are like crazy busy. Guess The countries are like (Don't let our people go).

Where are the Expendables when you need um.:help: . Of course ya'll know my sad tale I'll be in NVC forever. Please come by and visit.

Ya know, for our consulate. The beneficiary MUST attend a seminar before they are allowed to leave the country.

At the seminar they tell bad stories about extreme abuse from the US citizen. They do what they can to discourage the beneficiary from leaving.
