What I noticed watching some of the convention on PBS is that minorities were missing in the audience. Folks at PBS must have done some trick with the visual making it appear as if the GOP convention was an all white event. My wife commented that the folks in the audience looked whiter than Berlin. What I also noticed, however, was that the GOP did attempt a bit of window dressing putting more diversity on the stage than they appear to have among their delegations.

So blacks vote well over 90% democrat. Really no political diversity among them.. Does that upset you also ?

I'd be really surprised if MSNBC didn't cover Nikki Hailey's speech last night. Anyone know if this is the case?

I watched it, but to a casual observer, you'd think her southern drawl shows she's as amurikan as the confederate flag.

Why do you think it surprised me?

I did not suggest anything, I just copied the story on PSNBC not giving coverage to minorities speaking at the Convention. The point of my story was MSNBC not fair like fox. The subject or content did not suggest anywhere that the Pubs where a diverse bunch. Your trying to retreat.

So what's the complaint about then? That MSNBC wants to make the GOP appear to be an almost all white party?

No the compliant is MSNBC purposely selecting coverage because they are biased. Why not show all the speakers, pan the audience and let the viewer form the own opinion. I thought that was what journalism was about .

A slight on minorities? You mean like a major party holding a national convention and there being hardly any minorities present? That would indeed be a slight on minorities but it seems that the fine folk over at Red Alert haven't noticed. They instead focused on MSNBCs selection of what speeches to cover. And that then translates into me dissing minorities. Brilliant!

So do you get this worked up when the NAACP holds it's national convention and it is a vast majority of blacks ?

I don't really give a damn what MSNBC does and does not cover. They're a left leaning political entertainment enterprise. Much like Fox is a right leaning political entertainment enterprise. These two are different sides of the same coin. That's not a story. That's a well known fact and it is quite obvious. What isn't obvious and what's worth discussing, on the other hand, is why minorities are underrepresented in the Republican party?

Well they were represented last night and edited out .. Seems to me that was the GOP reaching out... Do you want to force minorities to come. Maybe minorities don't flock to the GOP because it was not the GOp that freed the salves and ensured the civil rights act passed .

Oh my bad it was the Pubs.

I haven't talked about any black to white ratio at the RNC.

Almost all your post were about the lack of blacks in the GOP. Your kidding right ?

He's not upset or surprised, why would you ever think that?

No, no he and his wife were simply pointing out that the crowd was "white as Berlin". Nothing to do with race yanno, as long as it's "them" being racist. Didn't even phase him that the minorities at the GOP were slighted by MSNBC, because MSNBC is "in the fold". It's only racism when it's convenient.

No, I think an honest invitation on the part the Republicans would do. What happened yesterday on that stage was window dressing. Look at the Republican delegations on the floor of the RNC, look at the Republican delegation in Congress and then tell me what supports the notion that they are some wonderfully diverse bunch. Or is the diversity there also just edited out somehow?

They were? I am? I don't think I've even mentioned "blacks" in any of my posts.

Hispanics lean heavily Democratic as well. As do women. Did you ever wonder why that might be? I'll give you two words: Big Tent.

I will give you two words Government entitlements

Is that observation incorrect or is it just politically incorrect to state the observation?

The observation is obvious, the fact that you made a point to state the obvious is what I'm talking about. More often than not a racist person is the first one to interject race into a conversation/situation, even if it is under the guise of an "observation".

Your back pedaling would make Joe Biden blush.

Your dead on. It's amazing to me that the same group of people who point out the GOP is predominantly white as criticism, have no problem with black only organizations that very openly state they exist only to further black causes.

You should know by now these types of people have absolutely no substance in them at all. All they do is distract and divide. It becomes more obvious as their pied piper sinks deeper every day. Very amusing to watch though.
