I got confirmation for the post office that my packet was signed for and recieved. Will CSC send me a confirmation, or is that what NOA1 is for? Also, when can I start tracking my packet on uscis's website?

You will have to create a portfolio on the uscis website but first you have to have your receipt#,so you have first to wait untill you get your NOA1 in the mail.

You can create portfolio without a receipt number, but you wont be able to use it. If you paid by check and can access your banking information online, watch for the check to be cashed then look on the back of the check image.

Your receipt number will be there. Since you are going through CSC it will begin with WACxxxxxxxxxx (and ten digits) or wait for NOA1 and the number will be there. NOA1 could take a month to reach your mailbox. Good Luck

Yes, you are right that, that is the NOA-1 that so many people talk about all of the time. Actually the NOA-1 is pretty meaningless because it really is like the USCIS saying: "damn, we got another petition, here is your receipt, so be quite now." It should not take all that long for you to get it. Maybe a week, maybe 2. This stuff is never the same for everyone. Anyhow, When you get the receipt (It is actually a form called the I-797C, Notice of Action.) it will have a case number on it. This will not be the same "case" number that the Manila Embassy will use later on in this petitioning process. That is actually determined by the NVC at a later date.
