The K-3 visa is obsolete now so it would be the CR-1 Visa for a spouse. It is far superior and less costly than a K-1 Visa. If you click on the attached link you will find a good comparison in the guides:

There's no guarantee you get visa. It depends on the whole process and what documents you will submit. Anyways, I was a k3 visa applicant in 2006, it took 8 months for the whole process and I never had any problems along the way. Just the whole process was a little slow, some got there visa in 6 months. CR1 before also takes long to process like almost a year. Don't know if the whole processing is faster now.
