Hi vj'ers..its been a long time since i posted here...well im just updating my current situation here in US. Been here since AUgust 4 and loving the life here with my hubby, my stepdaughter and my mom in law.. Got married aug 16 here in CA...Got our Marriage cert after a week and yesterday i've been to SSA to get my SSN and im expecting to receive my SS card after a week. Im glad that SSA staff here in El cajon,CA is familiar with K1 visa holders and they knew that K1 have the right to get SSN even if u haven't filed ur AOS yet and they allowed me to use my Married name unlike with other states they want ur maiden name first even if u have a copy of u marriage cert. and they will ask u to come back after a month and then change it to ur married name..But to be sure and no hassle i bought RM10211.530 just in case they will not allowed me to get SSN. Next thing will do is to get the Military ID and then soon to file my AOS. Thanks everyone here in VJ who helped and answer all my question during my K1 process, i know there's a lot of things to do but i know I can do it hehehehe..tnx again and godbless all!!!

We had certified copies of our marriage certificate the day after we got married, its pretty simple here in AZ.

SSN was a breeze and was issued in my wife's married name without issue, she had her card within 10 days.

The civil surgeon was easy for transcribing the vaccination records for AOS did not try to push an unnecessary physical at us, just transcribed the records put the form in an envelope and sealed it. Done.

Now we wait for USCIS once more...

Hi hank! is it required for me to go to CS before i file my AOS?im just confused what i read from the guidelines here in VJ here it is in bold letters " Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status.I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status. If you are a K-1, K-2, K-3 or K-4 visa holder the I-693 instructions state that you are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485 is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination. If you are missing any shots from your overseas medical a I-693 vaccination transcription is required to be completed by seeing a Civil Surgeon to have certain portions of the I-693 completed and have the Civil Surgeon certify the form (sealing the original in an envelope and giving you a copy)." or i misunderstood it...thanks
