Hello,

I was just wondering if the lost of my passport with my expired L1 visa would be a ground for K1 visa denial. Our lawyer said this shouldn't be an issue, but I wanted to double check just the same.

What happened was when I came back last year from working in the US for 2.5 years my visa got lost (or stolen), but I immediately filed for a police report and an affidavit of loss so I have those with me. I already have a new passport which i also filed right after I found out that my other one was lost. all my paperwork and documentation reflect the current passport details of course.

any insight would be appreciated :)

Doubt it will be an issue at all. Lost passports happen, not a big deal. As long as you now have a current, valid passport all is good. If it worries you bring your documentation to the interview with you, but I don't the embassy will care or even ask anything about it.
