AOS package assembly

Hello everyone. Just go done assembling my AOS package and it is a good size. My problem is that I can not fit it all into one envelope. Can I put the I-130 APPLICATION in one envelope and put the I-485 in another and when I get to the post office just put the both of them in one Express mail envelope?

put all your documents in a clear book,so it is organized...it is fit in envelope in USPS. Do not separate them.

How thick is the entire case file?

I would not send them in separate envelopes.

Put all in one envelope for sure! That way you will avoid confusion and your application to be lost at some point...

Take your package to the Post Office and they will give you one envelope where you surely can put all together.

My application and evidences resulted in a huge package as well, and I put all in one envelope. The post office person will help you.

I think the OP was talking about placing separate envelopes into one box and mailing them all together. This is exactly how we filed the AOS package and had no trouble. We used separate large envelopes, marked I-485, I-130 etc. on the outside. All evelopes were placed inside a FedEx Small Box for shipment and attached to the outside of the first envelope was our cover letter. There was no way all of those stacks of paper were going to fit in one large envelope. We didn't want to buy a binder. What's the point when they will be taking everything apart and filing it using their own system? We used binder clips and paper clips within the envelopes to group the documents together. Not approved yet but the application was accepted.

That might work too.. I agree, buying a binder is nonsense since they will just throw it away.

However, I will have to disagree when you said there's no envelope to fit a big stack of paper. The Post office has one big, heavy duty envelope. Our package was 2inches and a half thick and it fit. We separated I-485 and I-130 with rubber band as recommended by the USCIS.

Anyhow, if it worked for you it can also work for "maflove", which is awesome! But you can fit all in one big envelope. I don't know how much you paid for FeDex, but we paid max. of $15 dollars to mail it with insurance.
