Recently, my mother got approved I-601, Application for wavier for “misrepresentation”.

As per the U.S. Consulate, they have received your waiver approval notice. Since your case is over a year old, you must return to the Consulate in person on any business day at 7:15 a.m. with the documents listed below:

2X2 Photograph of yourself.

Form DS-230, Parts I and II of yourself.

Federal income tax returns for the most recent year (2011), IRS tax transcripts & W-2s from 2011 of Petitioner.

Note:-You must pay an additional courier fee of Rs.393 in cash per applicant at your local VFS office before returning to our office.

Help with DS-230, Question # 17 about “Spouse Occupation” & IRS Tax Returns & W2.

My father is filing DS-230 Part 1 and Part 2 on behalf of my mom’s Immigrant Visa. However, I have a question regarding Page 1, Question #17 about “Spouse Occupation” because we do not want to do anything wrong to delay the process or the Consular would find another misrepresentation.

IT asks about “Spouse Occupation”: Since 2003 to present, my father has worked as an “Religious worker/Priest” and will continue to do so. This is his main job and will continue to be. However, he is a non-salaried religious/missionary worker.

After getting his Green Card in 2009 he took another job in addition to the Religious worker/Priest job, to assist in his finances and in hopes that my mother will soon be able to join him from India. Therefore, in addition, he now works as a XXXXXX to be able to support him and my mother.

I am unsure if he is required or supposed to put this down as his “Occupation”. He considers his main occupation to be a “Religious worker/Priest” but claim his income as a XXXXXX and this job does not affect his occupation as an Religious worker/Priest. He received his Immigrant Visa in 2009 based on being a religious worker and continues to keep this commitment.

Currently my mother is gaining an Immigrant visa as a dependent of a religious worker through filing I-824, (following –to-join). US Consulate knows that my father Immigrant visa was issued specifically for religious work. He is also submitting to U.S Consulate with his W-2 & US federal income tax returns for the most recent year 2011 filed through his 2nd job as a XXXXXX.

If you could kindly advise me: does he need to mention both titles as “Spouse Occupation”? I am also concerned his W-2 & US federal income tax returns) filed through his 2nd Job as XXXXXX that my father going to submit to the US Consulate.

Question, after 6 months of receiving green card, can he work other jobs in addition to the Religious worker/Priest job?

Thank you for your assistance.

On May 22, 2012, we submitted I-601 Waiver at the U.S Consulate Mumbai.

On June 6, 2012 USCIS, New Delhi received and we didn’t receive Notice of Receipt.

On June 28, 2012, the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) Office, in New Delhi, Approved our Waiver.

23 days after USCIS, New Delhi, received our I-601 Application.

It's a miracle, it's amazing and its by the grace of God!

:) Hi,

I am new to this forum. I live in the US and my husband is in Jamaica. We filed all the forms needed and he had his interview July 23, 2012. He was told at the interview in Kingston, Jamaica, that he needed to file for I-601/I-212. The form was overnighted to the Lockbox July 24, 2012, and received July 25, 2012. We still haven't heard anything. We tried calling the Kingston Embassy and they gave us the 202 number which we call then was directed to 603 number. It has been a month but it still show that it is in review process. Can someone tell me how long does this usually takes. I spoke with a lawyer who stated about 2 to 3 months. Can anyone inform me. Thanks! :)

Yes please, where is he located and is he expensive? I have one who helped us to this point but i don't think he is experienced in waivers. My husband had a fraudulent job letter in 2001,,, and we have 2 babies together so you can imagine how desperately i need him here,,

He is located in Royal Oak, MI and Chicago, IL but everything with him I was able to do over the phone/email/fax. He is VERY reasonable as I shopped around...I believe my first lawyer took me for a run and drained all my accounts. :( His name is Hashim Jeelani 248-850-7841 or 312-238-9463. website: http://www.immigration-lawyer-mi.com/

I think you'll be very happy with the work he puts into it. Good luck to you. let me know if you need any other info. :)
