Because the USCIS always mentions only the medical docs, and never say that the whole package "was not forwarded", maybe? I don't know the truth behind that if you want to know.

My interpretation was that the whole package was lost, but that the medical is the only thing truly needed from abroad. The entry method (k-1) is recorded electronically. I can't think of anything else that is needed. The other stuff (visa copy, NOA2, I-94) is supplied by the applicant in the AOS package.

AOS for my husband

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package

I just got a RFE letter exactly the same.

"the U.S. Department of State medical forms DS-2053, DS3024, DS-3025 and DS-3026 were not forwarded by the Department of State"

AKA we lost your SH#@. useless bastards!

FYI I filed at the start of February and I entered at LAX.

I had a feeling the customs people had no idea what they were doing.

I have a photocopy of my medical, hopefully the civil surgeon I use will just copy it over.

Good luck OP.

Hey. I got the new medical exams. Again they are in a sealed envelope so I can't really make a copy. W/e. I know where I have to send them but there's a thing that is bothering me. I received the Request of additional evidence with an envelope and printed address (with bold red letters) on it. Is that envelope for the request of add. evidence and the other sheet of paper? Should I just put everything (request for evidence and sealed exams) in one of those big brown envelopes and write the address that's printed on the front of the attached envelope?

Put them in one envelope. The envelope provided is for you to use, but if the stuff you want to put in it is too big, use another envelope.

Hello, as suggested I would go and get the medical done again. I do have a few questions though if you don't mind answering them. Could you let me know when you submitted your AOS forms and how long it took to get this RFE? I only ask as I too came to the USA on a K1 Visa and I submitted my AOS in mid June. I have had my Biometrics but I did not submit the I-693 form. All I did was put in a notarised copy of the vaccination record I got from the Consulate. I have not received an RFE for this yet but I do expect so. Also the USCIS has not updated my status online from the initial Acceptance so I have no idea what is going on...As most people don't when it comes to the USCIS.

Was your vaccination record complete? I did not submit the I-693, only a copy of my complete vaccination record (DS-3025). I haven't had an RFE. I sent my AOS mid June, had my biometrics in July and my interview is set for tomorrow. Hope that helps :)

I had my vaccination worksheet from the country where I come from and thankfully they accepted that. So I didn't have to do anything about that. They just updated the worksheet and made it look like one of theirs. I am asked to send everything again, I-693 included. I asked the person that prepared the sealed envelope if everything I need is in it and she replied yes. So I really hope it's everything they ask for.

Who is 'they'? When were you asked to send everything again?

Oh you are talking about the civil surgeon.

The OP did not get an RFE because of vaccinations. The RFE was because USCIS lost their entire K-1 medical exam papers. They had to go out and get another medical exam from a civil surgeon because of that. This happens. It happens too often too. USCIS loses the paperwork and then you have to spend extra time and money getting another exam done. If they lose the papers, they should have to pay for it.

I wasn't replying to the OP, I was replying to another poster who had done the same as me and was worried about getting an RFE.

Ahh, I stand corrected. I missed that as I saw you replying to roshlioto who is the OP. For those worried about skipping the civil surgeon and just sending the DS-3025, the VJ member didopage is an active member that sent only their DS-3025, had no RFE and was not asked for an I-693 at their recent interview. Maybe that can ease some worried minds a little.

Yes, if the vaccination requirements were met and the K-1 medical was done less than one year ago, no need to see a civil surgeon in the US. The instructions of forms I-485 and I-693 are clear about that (if you read them carefully, it can SAVES you money! :P).

But there's still a possibility to receive a RFE because, as (unfortunately) for the OP, medical docs in the K-1 sealed envelop were lost between the POE and the USCIS...

Yes, that's what I thought. Thanks for posting.
