Hi all,

I applied for my parents in February with a receipt date of February 29th. The I-130 and I-485 were transferred to CA Center in Laguna Niguel on March 20th (EAD received in April). We have not received any updates after that. Anyone has any input about cases like this - US citizen to parent -Laguna Niguel, CA Office? I know this office is really back loaded as we speak but I am trying to see if I should call them or just wait a few more weeks as per my lawyer’s advice.

Thanks for your input.

You are exactly at the 6 months mark. Is 6 months the processing times for I-130+I-485 at Laguna Niguel Office? If that's the case, wait about 2 weeks as your lawyer advised you and schedule an infopass to follow up. If the processing times are longer than 6 months, there is no need to worry or call yet, as they will tell you that your case is not out of their normal processing times. I hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. Actually the processing time at CSC is 5 months. I know that CSC is really back loaded right now and their time lines are not respected especially for the transfers. There are cases that are being approved in 2-3 months and others that take about 9 months or so. I don’t see the logic to be honest but it is what it is.
