I am applying for a K-1 Visa. My fiance (Canadian citizen) did come to the US on a student visa last year and was given a social security number to use for when she worked.

Is a social security number received from a student visa temporary?

Should I put this number on the K1 application for her as her SS #?

Or are they only valid while the student visa was valid?

I've been trying to find information on this, but I have been unsuccessful, so I figured I'd try here.

the number is for life. the card changes, but he must file all paperwork with that number. he won't get another one.
