recd letter for interview

Hi all Vjers

I have recd letter for an Initial Interview I-797C at the local Office here in Garden City

i checked my Online status AOS has not been approved yet also i have not recd any NOA2 :o

what does intial interview mean the letter also has a checklist of what i need to bring to the interview

Any Idea why Initial???? :help:

Also is AOS approved by Lee Summit office or the local office as my letter is from Lee summit, MO...

Jan- Recd NOA1

Feb- Recd RFE for missing BC

Mar- Recd RFE for missing BC

Apr- NOA2 Case approved

May- NVC case #

May- paid $88 AOS FEE

you AOS is completed at MSC...your EAD is completed at your local office

i havent seen an interview letter so i cant say why it is called inital interview...

REMOVING CONDITIONS

11th Aug 2008 - Mailed I-751 to CSC.

12th Aug 2008 - Application received

14th Aug 2008 - Cheque cashed

18th Aug 2008 - Received NOA-dated the 12th

26th Aug 2008 - Received Biometrics letter

4th Sept 2008 - Biometrics-Detroit-Complete-'Touched'

5th Sept 2008 - 'Touched'

1st Dec 2008 - APPROVED-Card production ordered -112 days

8th Dec 2008 - USCIS mailed approval notice.

8th Dec 2008 - Received my 10 year Greencard in the mail. took 2 days.

Although I have the above date for approval my card actualy states the

2nd December..

Timeline

Apprently they almost always have initial interview on them... it wont show up as approved until after your interview at your local office.. read up a few threads on the first page and second of this forum and you will see what people are taking with them to their interviews as well as what has been asked for on the letter you have received.

Your AOS is processed at MSC then set to your local office for interview and final processing... so it is completed at your local office....

Your EAD is processed and completed at MSC not the local office...

All interview letters say INITAL interview as USCIS can always ask you back for a further interview if required

On-line status will not change until after you have been approved ay interview.... if then many people's on-line status never gets updated....

i am in the same situation as u are there.same MSC , same Lees Summit office.

i haven t been touched abt EAD yet,though.

i was myself puzzled by the initial interview expression but reeding Kez`s post i got the idea.
