NOA2 quick question

My NOA2 stated "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consultate". Does it mean it skipped the NVC? I received this NOA2 for 2 weeks now. Should I ask my fiancee to contact the consultate now?

no skipping NVC... It will take over a month to get from USCIS through NVC to the consulate... It may take amonth just to get the HCM# assigned to the case file. from there a few months to get the interview.

you can call DoS after you get the HCM# from NVC and they will be able to let you know the case status. Once it is sent to HCMC they will send her the pkt asking if she is reaady for the interview. (pkt 3)... Once she returns that, they will schedule the interview and send her pkt4.

Call the DoS and got the case HCM#, they mentioned they have sent the docs to the Embassy :-). I am so happy and nervous at the same time.

Yes Consulate. From this point do you know the time frame (estimate based on your experience) when my fiancee would get the interview?

Has the case left NVC yet? NOA2 says fwded to consulate but it actually goes to NVC and they do their thing first... Its not until HCMC actually gets the case in hand (hard copy) that they send pkt 3 out... from there could be a month could be 3... The case for my stepson was complete at NVC over a month ago and we are still waiting for an interview date.. I expect some time late oct for us based on this... Yours will depend on how long it takes you to get the PKT 3 response back to them and how booked up they are.. from the sounds of things they are not scheduling interviews right now.. a few of us are waiting....

Yes it have left the NVC, they said they have mailed to the consulate couple days ago.

It will take a week or two to actually get to the consulate.. You should get the pkt 3 late next week or the week after... DoS will know when it is sent out... As soon as it has been sent you can send them the docs. (pkt 3 is avail at the HCMC website to have them ready beforehand). You cant send them early.. they will refuse them... Have to wai till they send pkt 3 out..
