I dont know the stories of some people here that complaints that their process are taking forever and complaints why uscis approves petition where the couple meet online and in person once or twice. But its not about how you met or how many times you met but its how bona fide your marriage is or relationship. My husband and i met online, almost 2 years after that he propose marriage online too. And send the engagement ring through the mail. Couple months after that we met personally and got married in my country. 7 momths after that he petitioned me 8 months later we are together again. Never had problems with the whole process you know why? Because uscis believe its a bona fide marriage and that they could not see any red flags with our relationship. 7 years later we have 2 kids already and i am on the process of naturalizing myself. So dont be bitter because your process takes so long while others dont. We all went through the waiting game. Its frustrating but your case is not always the same as the others.

I can be as bitter as I want to be. How could you expect I not be bitter when I see people who met twice in real life get through this process in mere months and then all of a sudden the beneficiary has a double life and was only using the petitioner? That kind of BS messes it up for everyone else. And it's offensive to me that the government would even QUESTION if my relationship was real. I gave birth alone, I am raising my child alone, I work a full time job and pay all the bills alone. And yet it's taken me 14 months and like I said before, we're not even half way through. But the government doesn't care enough about me, even though I'm a USC, they'll just keep on chugging away, approving fake marriages so they can advance within the ranks of USCIS while people like me (and believe me, there are MANY of us) sit and wait... and wait.... and wait....

Bitter much? :girlwerewolf2xn::wow:

Did you not read my story? You don't have to have sympathy for me. You can be rude, too, but I'll say this, you will NEVER know my struggle. You'll sit back, in your comfy chair, and go to bed every night next to your spouse and enjoy life and the fact you probably got through in 5 months time. So good luck and bless your lucky stars your process probably didn't/probably won't take YEARS to complete.

Bitter much? :girlwerewolf2xn::wow:

Are you a high schooler?

I'm sorry but when someone has a MUTUAL child and the records to PROVE they've been together for more than a year (ie; in REAL life, not "over the internet") I think that's a lot more "bonafide" then 2 damn flight itineraries to and from spouse's country and then wedding pictures a month after the initial flight. I see 99% more fraud stories out of online dating than I do "married while in removal proceedings."

And no, I'm NOT amazed I was approved. I was in a BONAFIDE relationship and we have a MUTUAL child, I shouldn't have had any questions asked. You don't agree with me on USCIS scrutinizing "online" relationships more than real life relationships, fine. But I know I'm sick of seeing stories like this. SICK of it.

Many of us feel the same way.

I'm sorry for saying Don't be bitter and yes I understand the frustration. 14 months is a long time to be away with your husband. I don't have any answers as to why is that but apparently the uscis seen something on your case that they never see in some other cases hence the long process. Maybe it's not really your marriage that's the problem here, it might be because they see something on your husbands record. It can be anything really. But whatever it is, only uscis really knows why. Good luck

Apparently it is one of their laws that they have to use extra scrutiny when two people get married and one is in removal proceedings. I know I shouldn't get special treatment, but I mean come on... they saw in my file I petitioned ICE to let me marry him in jail. He was transferred from local jail to immigration jail... how would I have ever had time to find him and let him "scam" me into marrying him for immigration benefits if I hadn't known him otherwise, you know? Thankfully though, the officer working our case sent me an RFE for our daughter's birth cert. And once he received it (though it never hit my file after 3 months of having sent it in -- so I handed it to him in person the day after the deadline) he approved it without hesitation.

It's just really really really frustrating. I know my husband was here "illegaly" and he should pay but I mean come on... it's been OVER A YEAR and we STILL have at least another half year to go. I know many of you aren't sympathetic to that, and that's fine... but I'm struggling emotionally and financially and I can't afford to keep visiting him and our 10 month old daughter (who has only ever met him twice) took her first steps the other day... GAAAHHH

Anyway, sorry for being bitter.

For the record I did not meet my wife online and have no personal interest at stake... And reading the stories on here I mumble "gotta be fraud" at about half though no doubt I am wrong on many when guessing the outcome.. But yeah sorry I really don't really care how people meet.

These people you aim your anger at all have one thing in common that your relationship does not: Their spouse was not forcefully removed from the country. Nine times out of ten your scenario (trying to get married on the eve of deportation) is fraud. You have extra hurdles because of your husbands choices and because you waited until calamity struck to get married. Sucks.. but that is the path that he chose.

Edit added because I know that sounds harsh:

I am sorry for what you are going through.. really.. Mine was eight months and it seemed like forever.. I just think your anger at others here is misplaced.

You ever think maybe I didn't have a damn choice? I don't think my anger is misplaced, sorry.

Anyway, this thread isn't about me. It's about people who are too naive and get roped into marrying someone just seeking immigration benefits and then get dumped and are "blindsided" by their "met and married in 6 months time!" timeslines.

FURTHERMORE, I'm NOT the only one who feels this way.

I'm not going to bother to quote the other things by you. The reason why some of us can't live with the petitioner before applying is because I/we have a life here in the US. I have a job and only 2 weeks vacation a year. And tix alone cost between $1400 and $2000 to fly to my beneficiary's country depending on time of year... and thats just coach seats. I can't leave my job here for a month and expect to have money to live there (even tho its cheaper) and pay my mortgage here. So the flaw in your blanket statement is that many who can go live in the beneficiary's country for extended periods of time are retired. So a 60+ year old marrying a 20 year old makes their relationship more genunine that someone who met twice? For those who have met only a few times, they just need to perceive things clearly and not be blinded to whom the beneficiary really is, by love or lust. But then again, common sense isn't that common. And some foreigners are good liars. Realize some will do anything to be here. (that part covers my #### to not infer about the OP's common sense). Even if I can't get pregnant (the movie Junior doesnt apply.. lol) doesn't mean its any less of a struggle for me waiting. You haven't realized with this country that illegals and big businesses reap all the benefits?

Illegals reap all the benefits, huh? So why did my "illegal" husband pay taxes with an ITIN for every year that he worked but never once got a government benefit? So why am I STILL separated from my "illegal" husband after 14 months of this legal immigration dance? So why did my government doubt our marriage and take 8 months to approve it?

You don't need to talk to me twice about how much a flight costs to visit your loved one. Try dating someone in real life, spend every day with them for 11 months and then have them ripped away. How about you give birth to a baby alone? Go home to the apartment you shared alone? Save up the money to go see your spouse and spend time as a family, despite shouldering ALL childcare costs yourself because you've been without your spouse for over a year? Do those things AND THEN talk to me.

I know we all have it hard. We've all been separated by the loves of our lives. We all face adverse circumstances. But yes, some of us have it harder than others. And yes, some of us will continue to be upset when they see quick, easy, painless timelines that end in fraud. Who cares? I'm entitled to my feelings as much as you are.

Now, if you'd like to continue to talk to me about how "all the illegals in the country reap the benefits" go right ahead...

OMG.

Is this a pi$$ing match to see who has it hardest?

Really, this whole process just sucks for anybody in it. Just like life sucks and then we die.

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.

Nevermind. You're right. I give up. Sorry to OP for what he's going through. And I hope to GOD people who follow his footsteps in the future don't have these complications.

I think the lesson, for this particular thread, is BE CAREFUL AND TAKE YOUR TIME.

You just totally disregarded the whole point. You may have been with him for 11 months day in and day out. It still does not make your relationship any more genuine. I am not arguing about who has things harder or whether feelings matter to the government or not. I didn't meet my fiance online like some but I dont have the means to live with mine for extended periods of time. Usually its retired people who can do it. If I could, I would. I agree with you on seeing fraudulent relationships pass while I'm still waiting, CUZ I AM WAITING.

I'm sorry what you are going through with the government part. It's physically impossible for a man to get pregnant so I can't go through the birth. Anything is possible where I could have a child and take care of it all alone shouldering all the cost. I am not going to feel sorry for you having to do that. You knew the situation ahead of time before you got pregnant.

As far as illegals, Im talking things like the dream act and how if one has an ITIN they can apply for benefits and they can take advantage of the system while the IRS just says 'we' adhere to the laws. I'm not talking about the immigration part of the system. Also, like many posted on here about past situations of petitioning someone and after they get a GC they disappear. The government won't put any effort into deportation. But what happens if a USC breaks the law???

Agree, it takes time to build a genuine relationshiP. Meeting someone online and thinks you are inlove right away and decided to marry that person after just a few months of knowing online is crazy. Also if you are like 60 years old and thinks a Woman on her twenties really loves you think again! I seen these manymany times in my country where a young woman marries an old man and claims they are so inlove with each other. Yes i am too judgemental according to these women but i dont beleive all these women who are married to an old man really loves them.

There's a dude in one of the other posts by some girl whining about not getting an NOA2 after only 3 months who freaking met his current fiance online in January, met her in real life in May, proposed TWO DAYS AFTER MEETING HER IN REAL LIFE FOR THE FIRST TIME and now he's waiting for her visa..

I mean.... #######...???

My "illegal" husband had an ITIN and never once applied for a government benefit as he would have been denied. An ITIN is NOT an SSN and you cannot use it as such. So....
