I-864 and a co-sponsor

If as a petitioner you don't qualify to sponsor your spouse but you found a co-sponsor that makes well above in the $70K range but they just started working in january 2012.

But for 2011, 2010, 2009 they will have 0 for income listed on the I-864 form. Can they still be a co-sponsor? Or do they need to have the 3 years work history or is current good enough?

I have read all of their related websites so carefully. the way i understand it is that the first year is required and the last three are optional. hope that helps. have the employer write a letter stating that his employment is full time and secure.

It depends slightly on the type of job and the reason for 0 before. A student can go from 0 to good income over night. It would help to have a letter from the employer stating what they make and a job title.

Okay great good to know I know her co-sponsor was having babies and a stay at home mom last 4 ears. Now a RN and her employment letter states titile and salary all that. Just looks weird when my friend (the petitioner) was telling me about the 2011, 2010, 2009nwill be zero so I thought I woud come and ask. I figured current is the most important.
