I read this article from another post and found it sickening. Just thought if you guys have some free time you can write your opinion about the article and the authors email address is bonnieerbe@CompuServe.com in case you want to write her directly. Again be careful reading this article. I was out of my mind reading this horse ####### they call journalism.

"Do we really want another 40,000 plus people entering the United States per year to satisfy men who cannot seem to find suitable mates among America's already copious supply? And, if the mail order marriage industry is so great for women, then why aren't American women flocking to the Internet to find foreign husbands?"

She could've saved the rest of the article and just written the above excerpt.

This proves she, like the A/Ws that frequent this forum as of late to express their "displeasure" with the "importation of mail-order brides," proves that she lacks the common understanding of why this industry thrives.

Why get all worked up over an article that looks like it was written by a high-schooler to fulfill some kind of class assignment? Save your energy for attacks on "journalists" that are a real threat.

Well, it's like any other market really. The dominant players are always on-guard against the threat of competition that can do them harm. In this case, it's local women accustomed to running the show vs. foreign women who may be more willing or able to meet the needs of men looking for wives.

Cheers!

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

I have seen 2 or 3 recent articles on this subject. With the growing immigration debate, I wonder what the future of immigration may look like in another 10 years. Although IMBRA has not hindered marriage to law abiding citizens to this point, will Congress try to put a cap on how many petitions will be approved in the future? If illegal immigration were not such a problem, would people like this sick woman even be heard? It almost feels like we are going through the McCarthy era or Salem witch hunts once again, and villifying or accusing people of doing something they are innocent of out of simple ignorance.

Fortunately for all of us, we are still able to marry the person we love, even if they are from a different country. My big concern is for the people yet to go through the journey that we are going through. How difficult will it be for these people to marry the person of their dreams regardless of national boundaries?

March 29, 2006: mailed the I-129f form after getting all the documents translated and prepared

April 07, 2006: NOA-1

June 30, 2006: IMBRA RFE received by me

July 07, 2006: IMBRA RFE received by CSC

Aug 01, 2006: NOA-2

Aug 15, 2006: receipt from NVC stating they have the approved petition

Aug 25, 2006: email from US Embassy in Moscow, interview scheduled for Oct 16 @ 8:00 am

Sep 29, 2006: packet 3 finally received at old address even though we notified the NVC and Moscow Embassy of the new address.

October 16, 2006: Interview She passed

October 26, 2006: Arrival Date in the United States

November 09, 2006: Married

January 01, 2007: Moved from Florida to Kansas City (job related, not by choice)

January 12, 2007: Mailed paperwork for AOS, EAD, travel

If you think we've got it hard, try marrying Muhammed Ali Akbar Husseini al Shamra.... who happens to be from Iraq.

Talk about an "administrative hold." My real sympathy goes out to the girls that are marrying guys from Arabia and North Africa, as well as some from South-East Asia.

Well perhaps the Moroccan males could be introduced to the Russian females, then everybody would be happy?

Yeah, esp. since they're just a bunch of terrorists waiting to blow us up anyway.

Yeah, the stereotypes are not very nice, are they?

Please also see the VJ terms and conditions please. Baiting and trolling is not welcome here, or in the ME/NA forums.
