random question about AOS?

does your AOS go to random centers? or does it go to the one closets to where you live(CA) or where my husband lives(HI)? we are barely starting out and we really have no idea how all of this works out :/ can someone please explain this process? thank you oh and he filed for my i-130,i-485? he is also in the military (army active duty) if that helps any.

the packet is sent to Chicago, then National benefit center(NBC) for initial review.

EAD and AP comes out from NBC.

After that, it goes to your local office for interview since you apply I-130, I-485 concurrently

The local office depends on the address you put on your application.
