hello every one !

I'm from Saudi Arabia, and I applied to F1 visa to study in USA with my wife in 18 Jan 2012 .. her visa issued in two days only (L)

but Unfortunately , my visa is still under AP ! :crying:

every weeks, I send to them msg via email and these are some !

Sir:

Your case is still undergoing mandatory additional administrative processing. The timing for this process is still well within the normal time-frame. We will advise you when your visa is ready for issuance.

I note there still is plenty of time as your classes only start May 21, 2012. Please feel free to write to us again if your visa hasn’t been returned to you by April 10, 2012.

The reason it’s taking so long is that you have a very common surname.

Sincerely,

Non-Immigrant Visa Chief

U.S. Embassy Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Before one month, I send to the embassy asking them to change my visa type ( if could this help ) and he send me this msg :

Sir:

Although you may doubt my serious dedication to your case, in fact, thank to my efforts on your case on May 14 and July 16, 2012, we were able to finish the administrative processing. However, new information on your case came up that developed since we submitted your case to administrative processing, so we have had to submit your case to a new round of administrative processing. We will, as before, work seriously on your case and get this second round of administrative processing finished as soon as possible in time for your classes’ start on August 27, 2012.

It would make no sense to reapply; that makes no difference; you would always need administrative processing, whether as F-2 or F-1 or any visa category.

Please be patient.

Thanks.

Sincerely,

Non-Immigrant Visa Chief

U.S. Embassy Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

why they send my case to another AP ?? I'm really sad and I feel crusher! :( :( :(

before two weeks :

The record shows that it was not only once we have contacted all the offices involved on your visa process. As you know, we are trying to accommodate each and every applicant as much as we can but this process is beyond our control but very necessary for each visa application.

Thank you.

We understand the urgency of your case but your visa is undergoing administrative processing which requires additional time. This needs to be completed in order to conclude visa issuance.

Thank you.

this is the last msg I received from them ( before 10 days) :

Dear applicant,

your visa is still undergoing administrative processing, which is a necessary and unpredictable part of every visa application. While the interviewing officer may give you an estimate for when your visa will be ready, please note that the timeframe is only an estimate and that the administrative processing can indeed take longer. It is impossible to tell when the processing will be finished. But we still need to complete it before issuing your visa. still waiting another expedite in end of July.

Thank you

This is the last week I can enter US , and if I defer my acceptance to next term , the class will be on Jan 2013 ! (that's mean I've been waiting about 1 year ) :(

Is that normal ?

Please, pray for me, May Allah help me (F)

It can be for some. Unfortunately, you are undergoing more checks.

Also, please refrain from using names of officials on your quotes. Blank them out. It isn't proper etiquette.

AP is not uncommon from someone from your country. Do you have a common name or have you traveled extensively? These could be factors in why the AP is taking so long. There is really nothing you can do but wait until it is finished.

Normal? No. But not unusual either, especially for young males from your country (and presumably you are Muslim?).

Maybe you jsut have a common name, or name similar to someone on a watch list, or relatives that are on one.

You're only able to edit your posts for 5 minutes after you post. Once that time has passed a member of the administration team needs to edit them for you. I've removed the Consulate names from your post for you. :)
