The price of condoms is getting close to gold.

The contraceptive pill was $50 a month for me. Very expensive, most people can't afford that. Where I'm from the government provide it for free, so it was really a shock when I found out it was so expensive. The US government should offer it for free too, it is less than they would have to pay for hospital bills on medicaid, SNAP, WIC etc.

Agreed. In my previous married life, I had, what I thought, was good insurance. Obviously, the insurance people didn't care either. We still paid $40/month for birth control pills for my wife.

I definitely think birth control should be freely available to any female who wants it.

It would save the government a lot of money if they provided it for free. Condoms are a cheap alternative for most. I wonder how many of these people who can't afford contraceptives have no problem buying drugs and alcohol? I'll bet many spend a lot more than $50 per month on their vices. And let's not forget tobacco either.

I think the drugs reference is stretching it a little. People don't always have the right priorities in life, maybe cigarettes and alcohol are more important to them, more reason to give them free contraceptives!
