Hello

I currently have a pending AOS application... it has been transferred to CSC so im guessing no interview... I have a question about getting the actuall green card, does that include getting some kind of stamp in my passport at the same time ?

The thing is my passport will be invalid very soon because of the 10 year laps.. so i have to get a new one.. but for the people who get approved without interview they dont meet with any officials who stamps the passport..? and if that still would be the case that I get some kind of stamp I need to hurry up the ordering of a new passport, however that works when you live far from an embassy.. ;)

confused..

No not usually. Go ahead and get your passport renewed. You will need it should you want to travel.

We have awhile waiting at CSC.. They are just getting to some February filers.... Still saw some January people complaining.

Good luck

They don't even stamp your passport at the interview, usually. I believe it's only upon request if you want to travel before receiving your GC (which should come fairly quickly after the interview anyway). Anyone, correct me if I'm wrong.

You should renew your passport if it's coming to expiration soon.

Read through the posts in the AOS from Family Based forum. Couples are quite vocal with the delay. The general outlook from CSC is definitely 8-9 months..tongue_ss.gif

You do not need to renew your passport to get a GC. Getting a stamp in the passport is rare. You probably want to renew it for other reasons, but for the GC itself, it's not required.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!
