Hi everybody,

My I-130 was recently approved on Oct 5, 2006. When I call up the NVC number (603-334-0700, option 1 for english; then option 1 for automated case information) the automated system tells me they have no record for my CIS number (begins with EAC). With most of the posters here, I see the NVC case number assigned within a few days after approval. Am I unlucky again or am I calling wrong number? Please advise.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Regards,

I-130 Mailed to VSC - May 30, 2006

I-130 NOA-from VSC - June 7, 2006

I-130 transferred, second NOA1 from CSC - July 22, 2006

I-130 approved: Oct 5, 2006

New form with IMBRA questions I-129F - NOA1 - June 22, 2006

Regards,

If you call NVC, you must speak to a Customer Rep,also known as an operator. Opt. 1 for English, then option 5 to speak with an operator. If they have it they will tell you in person. I monitored this for weeks and had time lines, and the average wait can take up to 21 days. Then they will tell you it will take 2 to 4 weeks to send papers after entering your case into their computers. I am there right time wise, now waiting for those papers and what ever they do next. Call them ,and it can take a few calls depending on busy times.

Good luck, by now they may already be well along in that next step...but dont hope for too much, they may let you down if you get your hopes up.

Hi Randy,

Thanks very much for your reply. I took your advice and called NVC number again and this time spoke with a helpful operator. She told me they have it on their system now! Now I have the NVC case number also. That 's good, some things are moving, finally.

Thanks again.

NVC's automated system is not updated right away. Therefore, it is better to speak with an operator to get the latest. Are you going through CR-1/IR-1 process? If yes, you should get ready for the choice of agent and AOS Fee Bill.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

simple_male,

Thank you. I am indeed reading about James' shortcut and other details. I am thinking of using email method of requesting agent choice as soon as I know 3032 is generated. I read it somewhere on visajourney it worked for some.

Regards,

Yes, I would recommend you to use the email method to take care of the choice of agent. It worked for many including us.
