Hello again dear Visa Journey members. :help: As mentioned in other topic my husband received his visa a few days ago, and we aleady purchased the ticket for him to travel in two weeks. We are just wondering if there is anything ealse he may need besides the followng things i will mention:

Visa

Envelope for POE

Military certificage with authorizaton to depart the country - he got this two days ago( I will like to mentioned that Khaid was exempt from military)

ticket (of course)

Customs form (I already cover this with him in how to complete)

Also i wanted to ask as far as the customs form khalid has an imigrant visa when declaring his articles in the customs form is he supposed to write down the value of good on the resident portion or visitor portion. or should he leave this blank and just complete the back and write the value there.

I will greatley appreciate if any one can get back to me with feed back on this two questions. thank you in advance and God bless you all in this Journey :D

This may sound very stupid but, all of these items must be with him in the airplane. In other words, it can't be checked in the luggage. I was a flight attendant a long time ago and you'll be surprised how many times we had an issue with a passenger leaving the passport in the checked luggage.

He is not a resident, he will be clearing customs and immigration prior to becoming a resident. He must declare anything of value. He can't travel with a PC (just a laptop) or anything like lithium batteries or the like. If he's bring alcohol or tobacco he must declare that. Anything else is at his discretion. If he lives in a farm or near one, it is important he declares that. Other than that, everything will be ok.

Also, remind him he needs to pay for extra luggage.

Bon Vogage

Don't ever do anything you're not willing to explain the paramedics.

Something he may need later.......He might want to have his education documents translated to english so when he begins to look for a job here he will have proof of his education.

Congratulations and wish him a safe flight :)

This, and he should do everything possible to get multiple copies of every important personal document that he can think of: birth certificate, divorce certificate if applicable, school records, other legal documents, and optimally TWO copies of his medical records.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Yes I covered all this with him for the most part he is bringing presents for his son and me, he insists so I do not want to take away his intentions, Yes I did mentioned to him to leave the lap top in Egypt and of course I told him that the Envelope, visa etc he must have with him in the carry on. I also mentioned to him that he should pack his own bags and not wait for any other family member to do so for him since they can unintentionally put something in his suitcases that is a NO NO. I also told him that as far as his personal essentials to bring the smallest items. and as far as the weight I have mentioned to him to leave some extra room in the bags both carry on and check in the event he needs to switch some things and not to stress to the max weight.

Thank you for your reply it was very helpful

Yes Education documents he already went to the univercity and they are working on putting them together for him and perhaps he can pick them up before he travels or he will assign some one to do it for him because he does want to continue his education in USA.
