pls my passport will be less six months by september i wrote to the consulate this the reply i got from them

Thank you for your inquiry. Visa applicants are required to present at the time of their interview a machine readable international passport that is valid for six month.

I have gone to the immigration office one man i meet at the gate, said i will get a new passport at the cost of N25,000 and I am hoping my interview date may be October

why are you confuses, the instructions are clear. the passport MUST have SIX months of validity to it at the point of interview, you will need a valid passport when u enter the USA so to be on the safe side, try get it change quickly before scheduling interview, it will save you delays and other problems. I have seen a few VJ members from that country go into AP and if that happen to you, your passport wont be of any good when ur ready to use it

Get a new passport.

Let me guess, that price was in Lagos? Try other cities like Ibadan or Abeokuta if it's convenient. But you should start the process sooner than later depending on the stage of your petition.

I think you should get a new passport, and take the old one with you to the interview and explain to them why you had to get a new passport

N25000 for a new passport???? that is ridiculous, if you try somewhere else hopefully you can get it for N15000

thankx you all for quick response just coming back from passport I got i woman that said N18,000 to collect the next day. hoping to get start on Monday....... @Gowon my work will not let go outside lagos.... my case close on august 2 do I need to send the copy of my passport to NVC if i get it before the interview date????

I understand and you did well anyways, N18,000 is good. It's about N12,500 to N15,000 outside Lagos but travel cost if you are not in the area eats up any savings.

By the way, renewal of a US Passport is N17,600 so it's inline
