Also, know that if you bring him across, he will stay illegally (should marriage not happen), chances of him being deported are null. Personally, I would hate to go through life looking over my shoulder.

Ok. I've noted the 7 tourst visa denials here. I admittedly have been approved once and denied 4 times. I lost my passport with the visa (stupid I know), and the other 3 times I applied because my mom wanted me so much to go with her to the US coz my dad is not into travelling. The last time I tried was last year to meet my current fiance who didn't have the finances to visit me here.

Now with everybody saying that those 7 denials are red flags just makes me even more depressed coz I'm basically at the same situation. Anyway, I'll take each day one at a time before interview day. I don't wanna stress myself further thinking about it.

And to the OP, I hope you choose the right decision. I'm sorry to hear about what happened and why someone would try to use other people just to get their way. Be strong and don't let him win!

OP, how many days in total have you spent with him in person?

Have you met his folks and had the ability to judge his moral fiber? Or were you all in complete vacation mode?

This is a crucial undertaking with potentially dastardly consequences if one were to chose the wrong mate. I am alarmed that an offspring is involved.

Gowon can't tell you what to do but if it were him he woudl at least put the petition on hold (withhold critical documents necessary for a successful interview) while you reevaluate.

I think this is very good advice. Your relationship is fairly young and sometimes we get caught up in "the happy ever after " moment when our emotions are running rampant. If he is "the one" he will be sad but will understand and agree with building a little more of a base for the relationship.

All the best, be strong and don't let emotions get in the way of your clear thinking.

I am so happy i found this site. I filed a petition for my fiance for a k1 visa. Recently i have been having doubts about him being genuine. Now that his interview is coming up, he is acting very strange,he always starts argument with me for no reason. He even made a few comments about he doesn't need me bugging him anymore and he will soon get his visa so he doesn't have to deal with me bugging him. We met february of 2011 and I know that he has applied for about 7 tourists visa, all were denied, is this suspicious?. I don't know what to do, my sister told me i should end things before he commits fraud. What can i do at this stage? How do i know he is planning fraud? Thanks.

-Kristina

What is he doing that is fraud? You filed the petition. Why do you feel you need to tolerate being treated that way? You think someone like that is the best man in the whole world for you? Or are you afraid of losing $340?

Don't be silly.

Thank you for your reply, Can i withdraw my petition? What if he gets approved for the visa and come to the US?

Yes, you can. HOW you withdraw depends on 'where it is' in the process.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Have you prayed for clarity? Have you sat quietly meditating about this? Shut yourself off from what you would normally do and hear what you need to do. This is your walk.

im going to be frank, im a jamaican man and if your really feeling what you said you are, chances are that your right and its best to end the relationship and withdraw the petition. No normal person in jamaica apply for a Visitor Visa 7 times just because he wants to visit. A friend of mine went twice and he got denied and dont wanna go back.....now 7 times seems a bit strange. All you just need to email the consulate @(KingstonIV@state.gov) and make sure you put in the case# in the subject line telling them you want to case close because you suspect you might be a victim of immigration fraud and they will contact you within a day or two. Makes no sense dealing with that stress in the USA, a lot of these guys dont care, they just want the visa which is a gateway to the US, after which they can survive on their own because of the large jamican community there in places. I was surprise to learn of the amount of undocumented jamaicans living there right now. Thank God for VJ it helps a lot of people to see the light

I concur with the offer-to-move-there advice. Look for legit jobs that you could do there (that you could ask him about with enough details to sound convincing)and ask him to help you find out about the immigration policies to his country. Tell him you have read so many horror stories of visa denials, that you are trying to prepare to move there if the visa doesn't work out. A genuine fiance will want to be with you no matter where you make your lives together.

If you need to stall for time and haven't sent the documents yet, don't send them or leave out something completely necessary so that he has to try to reschedule. This could buy you some time.

If there are issues now, waiting for another period of time won't make things better, but it could reconfirm how legit this is. Time is usually a requirement for working through problems of any kind in a relationship.

Doubts are normal for both parties. Immigration only adds an extra level to the stress.

(Here is a trick I learned many years ago: Ask your date/lover/whatever about his exes. If he trashes them and can't say good things about them, then this is how he treats women in general. If he has positive things to say along with perhaps negative things or explanations, that is a good sign. If he blames every break-up on the women, he is a creep and a liar. If he questions you about why, as his potential spouse, you have the right to know if there was some crazy jealous woman in his past--just look at the news.)

Good luck.

Edited to add:

No matter how much a visa costs, a spouse is much more expensive. For the visa related costs and travel expenses for our first year, I could have bought a nice used car or had the best dream vacation ever. That first 340$ is only the tip of the iceberg.

The interview only needs a ds230 form to be scheduled. the 134 they said should be presented at the interview, i sent him a package by mail last week with all the stuff that is required for sponsor. I will try emailing them tomorrow and see what they say. How long will they take to respond? Will they cancelled everything? will there be a procedure?

Hi as far as i see your fiance seems to be fraud, his attitude suggests that once he gets that visa he is planning to leave you. i encourage you not to allow him to get the visa through you. Also the 7 tourist visa applications are kind of a big red flag to show you that all he wants is to leave Jamaica and not actually bcuz he wants to get maried and have a life with you. Please think on these things. You can email the embassy and they will reply to you withtin 5 business days. Good luck. Dont let this man use you.
