Pushbrk is the most knowledgeable person regarding China's process. Hopefully, he will see your thread and give you some links/guides/info to help you. China is vastly different than other consulates from everything I have seen here.

But you can start here to help you. The first step is for the USC to file an I-129F petition... also see this flowchart

Read all you can.

Good luck

P.S. Go to settings...profile... and put China as country of non-US family member and your questions will also appear in China's portal. You will get specific answers from people who have dealt with immigration processes from China....

If you follow the guides here you won't have any problems. If your wife has QQ they have advise on their also if VJ is unavailable. Use the Chinese forum/Portal for help from us Prior K-1 Chinese members. There are several China and other members who are squared away to assist. China much easier than some others. Pshbrk, A&B just did their AOS, Anh map, RyanH etc. good luck.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Thanks for the help guys, yeah my fiance and I have started getting the K-1 visa petition package ready, and we have followed the VJ guide. I just heard that the Guangzhou consulate is tough which makes me worry and want to get more evidence.

I've used phone cards to talk to my fiance, however my phone service provider doesn't have records of me calling her. However I managed to salvage some of the phone cards I used and am able to get some of the phone records (about 30-40%). I hope this the phone records aren't that big of a deal.

My fiance and I generally use QQ (the chinese equivalent of MSN messenger, skype, etc.) to communicate. We were able to get some of the QQ records but when we printed them out they looked lousy and not legitimate, if anyone has any tips or any prior experience that would be a great help. Thanks in advance.

+10 points to you for learning how to use the Google Search Tool here.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Dynasky.com has a great phone card that lets you dial without a pin from three phones. You can then print out the phone records showing your number calling her number. Best way to do communication records is to bring them up in a browser and use the print screen function of your computer. Just hit PRTSC and paste to a Word document.

Welcome to the forum.

Most of us are quite familiar with QQ, and many also have our own QQ numbers (myself included). My wife and I "migrated" to Skype because we could most easily copy and paste the chat session time logs to a Word document, and thereby have a record of the session. YMMV. As bigdog mentioned, the GUIDES (accessed at the top of the forum page) are great source of information. At your stage of the process, pay particular attention to showing USCIS that you have have an ongoing and genuine relationship. Great tips are found at the GUIDES, step-by-step K-1 visa guide. about the types of evidence that work best (Documentary Proof section). You mention phone cards and QQ. What else do you have, "couple" photos, passport stamps, hotel receipts, boarding passes, etc. (list is in the guide)?

In our case, we felt that having as solid and complete petition (and subsequent application) as possible was our best course of action. There are a lot of us that have successfully navigated our immigration journey through the Guangzhou consulate, like pusbrk, Darnell, RyanH, bigdog (to name but a few). Que Saudade is a good South American compadre. Review our prior postings/rantings/ravings.....

Good luck on your visa journey.

Now....Double and Triple check everything before you send it in.

Get used to waiting, Waiting and waiting more. Patience.

To fill your time wait post your timeline and read VJ blogs for help.

Darnell has a few short cut tip once you recieve NOA2, then wait again. If you are lucky you will get the visa at the interview.

Hi I have a fiance living in China and we are currently getting our K-1 visa petition package together. Are there any tips you have for those going to the Guangzhou Consulate? If you would direct me to any websites or give me any tips that would be much appreciated.

Print screen and paste to Word is a far better practice than copy and paste, regardless of what kind of record you're trying to document.

I was able highlight the entire section of numerous pages that I wanted to copy and then pasted to a blank Word doc, with format pagination, and yields a multiple page document with pagination. I am familiar with the print screen function and have had it sometimes render a very small image of the printed screen, though accurate "snapshot" of the screen contents.

six of one and half dozen of another.....YMMV. Then, of course, I was always more of a fan of Word Perfect than Word anyway..... again, YMMV.

BTW, I am a happy Mac user living in "Microsoft-opolis." :D

Depends on whether you're going for something that serves as evidence or is "pretty". Anything you can copy and past, tends to also be anything could simply have easily manufactured or faked. That's the reason for my recommendation. "Evidence" is the key.
