AOS package with DS-3025 (no flu shot) and without i-693

I will submit my AOS late September, which is Fall. When I did the medical in Belize, the doctor did not give me a flu shot because it was not in season (summer). Can I take a flu shot here in the USA and include that information? Or do I have to submit a i-693 from a Civil Surgeon just because of the flu shot? Will they need this flu shot? Thanks!

You will have to submit an I-693 anyway, it is required as part of the AOS package. I didn't have to get a flu shot...thank God, because I always get sick after smile.gif

but many people on here say that once you enter on a K-1 the DS-3025 should have been forwarded from the embassy so there is no need for a I-693

my profile says F-1 however its a mistake I made I am K-1

Then you're in the wrong forum - should be Adjustment of Status from family-based visas

Not if the K-1 medical is less than 1 year old, and that the vaccination record is all good.

OP, look at this link: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/335754-ds-3025-complete-or-not/page__p__4971318#entry4971318 What does your DS-3025 says at the bottom and do you have any required vaccines missing?

You may not need to see a civil surgeon, but in any case, DO NOT add things by yourself on your Vaccination record.

I am in the USA on my K-1. It is checked "Vaccine history complete for each vaccine, all requirements met" However, the only one not checked is the flu vaccine, because it was done in the summer and not flu season, so was not required at the time. However when I submit my AOS it will be fall, which is Flu season. The question I was asking in the OP is that since my AOS will be received in Flu season, and it says that I didn't get the flu shot, will this be a reason to send it back? Of corse I will not add anything to this form that the doctor filled out! My question in the OP was do you think I should get the flu shot, and include this with the AOS package? Or do I have to get a i-693 filled out by a CS just for this one shot. I hope I am being clear. Thanks!

Yeah, my answer was based on you adjusting from an F-1, so please just disregard!

I had my medical outside the flu season and did not have a flu shot. I submitted AOS in the flu season within the 12 months. No RFE, all was approved based on the ds-3025. I figured the worst thing that could happen was getting an RFE because of missing flu shot but they didn't bother with it.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days

If all the other required vaccinations are marked off on the DS-3025, then no need for a civil surgeon or flu shot. It is not flu season, and that shot is only required during flu season (October - March). If you file for AOS after September, then you will need to get the flu shot and see a civil surgeon for the I-693. Just file before then.
