I know many IR-1/CR-1 applicants feeling this pain.

So, can somebody please explain this to me as if I were a 3 year old?

We are finished at NVC, but are told that we must wait at NVC because no interview slots are open for August or September.

So as we wait there, now I see that all the interview slots for October are filling fast.

So we will wait at NVC another month because October filled up????

Then as we wait some more all the interview slots for November fill up..???

Is this an indefinate process for an IR-1/CR-1 applicant...???.... :crying:

It is interesting. I know of 5 waiting in the Nigeria interview queue 2 since July. But the K1's screamed through. Doesn't look good for me once I get done with NVC. But at this rate I'll never been done at NVC. Sorry.

Yes....I just can't make any sense out of this. I cannot wrap my brain around this procedure for obtaining an interview for an IR-1/CR-1 applicant. It is nearly mind boggling....I'm going crazy....I need psychotherapy soon.

The waiting is tolerable if you know what's going on...but at this point of the process, we just sit and wait without any hope of progress. Help.... :help:

I thought the procedure to assign an interview date was the same for all IR-1/CR-1 applicants. I was under the impression that this is not relevant to the applicants consulate.

NVC will assign a case number when an interview slot becomes available, but since NVC only assigns interview dates once a month for IR-1/CR-1 applicants....that gives the chance for the consulate to continually fill with other applicants.

Hence...we just wait and wait and wait......I am sure I must be wrong about this theory...

I Have been at NVC since 7-30-2012. So far in the past 3 1/2 weeks I have a case number and IIN since 8/16.

Still no Invoice or anything else since then. As I am reading others having issues at almost every step, I am wondering whether I will emerge from NVC before October.

I think it is safe to say that the LengChe and James shortcuts are just a myth. There is no way to shortcut any of this so far. My packages have been ready to go since July. It has just been reduced to this glacial bureaucratic crawl. I can call them to be informed that each step will require 10-20 business days. Meanwhile my wife and I sit 7000 miles apart and attempt to keep our patience and sanity. There seems to be no justification for treating citizens this way.

Nope, at the very earliest it will be 3 more weeks before I am notified of my appointment date. But according to NVC it could be up to 8 more weeks before I receive notification and then 6-8 more weeks until the interview day.

It means there are people in line ahead of you. They go first, and people who came after you go after you.

Not true

Maybe I didn't write my post clear enough.

So, you are telling me that a k-1 applicant that receives a USCIS NOA2 tomorrow will not get a visa interview appointment before me???

There are no lines in the immigration process...

I so know this is not true. I have seen people assigned when others still waiting on NOA2 they got interviews before. And yes I check to make sure the couple didn't change date to later time. They were approved in April got July ionterview. Along came 2 people approved in May and got June dates. All IR1/CR1 Visa.s The K1 is a whole nother ball of wax.

So know its not first come first serve. Why would you even think that.

When i was waiting for my appointment date, I did kept calling them and telling me the same stuff too, they normally say it will take 20 business day which I really dint believed. My case was completed July 24 and got my appointment date July 31. acording to your time line tomorrow will be your 5th day of waiting. be optimistic if you didnt get it today then tomorrow might be a different story.

TRUE......I called NVC today....she told me that I missed the cutoff for September scheduling. So, the 2nd week of September they will try to schedule me for October....but if the slots fill up for October before they schedule me, then I must wait until November scheduling....and so on, and so on, and so on, and so on,.......

It is indefinate time frame for IR-1/CR-1 scheduling

apprently you got lucky.....the NVC operator just told me that I will not hear anything until at least September 15. But if all the appointment slots become full for October. Then I will wait until October 15 for November schedule.
