about medical expiration

hi vj members...i'm here again..I know it's been a long time since the last time i posted something here....and I am just curious now...AGAIN...hopefully some of the members here would still reply to my question..To recall everything, I had my medical last April 12 & 13, 2012 and had my interview may 2, 2012 but unfortunately I was under 221(g). Just this morning, i sent my 221(g) docs to US embassy here..my question now is since my medical will expire on october 13th ( 6 months after my medical date ), will it affect the visa process? will the consul require me another medical exam ? how about the visa? will the expiration of it be the same as with my medical date? Hopefully someone can enlighten regarding this things..

yes your visa will most likely have the expiration date of your medical..that is the way it worked for my wife. We did an early medical in february, had interview in april, and when she received her visa it was only good until august (6 months after her medical date). She had no complications during the medical either.

So your interview was in May, why did it take until now to send your 221g documents? (I'm assuming you were waiting on a police clearance?) As far as in your case, when they finally send your visa, make sure to look at it close for the expiration date. You may have to fly pretty quick in order to use your visa.

It's not the police clearance but it is about my fiance looking for work...luckily he got hired last week of May but some friends told me I need to have some payslips for at least 2 months and also the certificate of employment..that made the delay in sending our documents to USEM

Yeah I kow how it sucks.....it's waiting mode again now that I have it send to USEM....
