wondering on F1 students and report of AOS

It's good to let your school now, though it won't really effect your studies. If you don't feel the need to maintain your F-1 status as a back-up during the AOS, then you won't have to maintain full-time status or obey the F-2 regulations anymore once AOS is filed, but if you want to remain in school normally, filing AOS won't change anything in that front. Just inform your school's international student services office about filing AOS - not that they really have anything to do with the process, but still good to keep them informed.

It's not INS anymore - you'll be sending your documents to USCIS, i.e. United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Hey Little_My:

Thanks for the reply. I do want to maintain full time status as I'm in the middle of my studies and whether I've filed for AOS or not I don't want to stop school anytime soon. :) So in that sense, for me it's really not about "have to maintain full time status and keep my F1 or not" but more simply I came here to study and reach my goal, hence I want to remain in school anyways. Thanks for your reply though. I know it's not INS, but it is a hecka lot easier to say INS than USCIS....tongue twister (and finger twister when typing it down). :) Anyway, as I see it doesn't really matter at this point of school knows or not. :) Thank you, thank you!
