Hello,

I am new to post here, but I have been following people's post to help me and my fiance with our k1 fiance visa process. I had a question regarding the i-134 form requirements.

My dad will be co-sponsoring my fiance. I just had a question. The instruction on the i-134 states they need letter from bank and letter from the person's company. Has anyone had a co-sponsor before? Do they need to get all these documents (letter from bank and work?) Or can they just give last year's W2 form and last year's tax return?

I'm just wondering because I do not want to burden my dad with providing so much documentation. He is just co-sponsoring. Has anyone done this with just W2 and tax return or do I really need all those other things as well to prove income? Thanks!

You will fill out your I-134 and provide supporting documents and your dad will fill out his own separate I-134. If he makes the 125% income requirement for his household size plus the beneficiary, he will not be needing to list/use assets and will not need a letter from the bank or bank statements. He will need a free IRS 2011 tax transcript or a complete copy of his 2011 tax return that includes all forms, schedules, attachments and W-2s and/or 1099s. He will also need to prove his current income which can be done with a letter from his employer stating his position and salary and/or most recent pay stub(s). As a co-sponsor, he also needs to provide proof of being a USC or LPR by providing a copy of his birth certificate, naturalization, bio page from US passport or front and back copy of green card.

Submitting complete documents and following the instructions are keys to success.

Yes, he should provide all that is needed.
