Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn has gone on the record and said that there'd be no hesitation in calling off next week's Republican National Convention if Tropical Storm Isaac (soon to be Hurricane Isaac) poses a threat. "Human safety, human life trumps politics ... I think the RNC recognizes that" Buckhorn told CNN (video below). "In the event there's a storm that looks like it's coming this way... our job and my job will be to make sure that the safety of the delegates, the delegations, the visitors, the guests, as well my residents are first and foremost."

Now, before politics is thrown into this (Buckhorn is a Democrat), it should be noted that Tampa is set to make somewhere around $150 million from the convention, and that it's in his city's best interest to have a smooth-sailing convention. The big question of course, will be if Isaac hits. Accuweather Hurricane Center's meteorologists are predicting the storm will curve north later this weekend and into Monday (right when the convention starts), but as we know, hurricanes are unpredictable.

Hmmm....so, what happens to the mix if the Republicans have their convention after the Democrats this time?

How bout we cancel both conventions and give the proceeds to homeless shelters? That would also cut way down on the amount of shovels needed to remove the ####### both parties spew.

 Cancel these conventions permanently. However the strippers that have booked hotel rooms around the convention centers will be bitterly disappointed

The local adult entertainment businesses were hoping the GOP would make it rain in Tampa Bay. Seems as if Isaac will take care of the rain instead. Different kind of rain, too.

Heard on the radio this morning that the Ybor City Resort & Spa is offering free admission to the attendees of the GOP convention.

Gay Bathhouse in Tampa to GOP Delegates: Come In for Free

Unless Tropical Storm Isaac decides to rain on the GOP's parade, Republican National Convention delegates arriving in Tampa next week will have at least one thing to look forward to: Free admittance at Tampa Bay's "only gay owned and gay operated" bathhouse, Ybor Resort & Spa.

Located in Ybor City, Tampa's "**-heavy entertainment district famed for its riotous nightclub scene," Ybor Resort and Spa provides a discrete back entrance for members which is located next door to MC Film Festival on 15th Street between 8th and 9th Avenue.

As Joe My God points out, the bathhouse just so happens to be located "riiiight around the corner from GOProud's Homocon 2012."

Come on in, the water is fine.

They are going by the motto that a free sample is all you need and you are hooked. Kinda like giving someone the first joint for free and then you have to pay for your own pot after that
