I am in the process of petitioning both my parents. The NVC told me to send the Affidavit of Support. I have been out of work for about over a year now because I have to stay home with my 7 month old baby. Now my problem is, is it possible that my husband will send the Affidavit of support instead of me? or should I send the I-864 and have him be my joint sponsor even though I am not making money at this time.

Please help me on this. I don't want to send the wrong paperworks to NVC or be rejected.

Thank you so much.

You should send the i-864 and your husband should send form i864A. If he has enough income, you should be fine.

Thanks so much for replying. I printed out both forms and I checked the poverty line level and we should be fine. My friend was saying I should send a bank statements too and employee letter from my husbands company. It doesn't show anywhere on the paperworks I was reading so I thought it is not necessary. Do you have any input on this? :)

Hi Keyzme, have you sent yours yet? I actually called the NVC yesterday because I wanna check if they received the DS-3032 that my parents sent last week. The lady I spoke with said they just received. So I asked her what's my next step? She answered that I should send them the Affidavit of supports because I already paid the AOS. I was glad that I called because I have no clue at all what's the next move. Anyway, I'll keep you posted. I am hoping to send the Affidavit of support by friday. I just need to make a photocopy of our tax returns and notarized.

Hi Eunice888! Please let me know how did u go with the affidavit of support. We have the same query. I am staying home with my daughter also because I don't have a sitter. Thanks!

Thanks for your input. I txt my husband and told him to get a letter from his supervisor. ;)

Make sure the employment letter has date of employment, position and rate of pay. Needs to be on employer letter paper and I would have someone sign it.
