I could care less about abortion, gay marriage, gun rights, global warming or any other BS issue. This looming financial mess is the one that will affect my children the most. I don't know what the ultimate answer is, will or should be.... but we need to get cracking on it soon.

It's simple. Vote Republican and get a continuation of $1 trillion deficits.

Or vote Democrat/Fiscal Conservative and slowly move towards a surplus.

The last Republican to collect more in taxes than government spent was in the 1950s under "top rate 90%" Eisenhower. It's been about 6 decades and we've had 30-some years of Republican leadership. They have yet to demonstrate they know how to balance a budget.

But propaganda is so strong that you have people thinking Republicans have the track record of surpluses. They don't. Democrats do.

Really?

Prepare for another year of $1 trillion-plus deficits.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office projected Wednesday that the deficit for 2012 will run $1.1 trillion, the fourth year in a row the shortfall will exceed $1 trillion.

I'm pretty sure Obama has been President for a few of those last four years.

Sorry you think those are BS issues.

So you care about these issues a lot?

And it was too late to edit it to add...not into it

Not one bit. They are diversionary/ wedge issues used by politicians to pit us against one another for their amusement and financial benefit.

The kenyan needs only four more years to straighten everything out. Many great problems are solved on a golf course.

Sorry to break it to you ... but whether it's Obama OR Romney for the next 4 years, these problems won't get solved in that amount of time.

Sorry, I was just being silly. It is an odd American expression, it should be "I couldn't care less". It is somewhat misleading, although I knew what you meant. :P

No one knows how to get out of this hole. I feel a step in the right direction would be getting the incumbents out of Congress, as Gegel said.

My congressman hasn't done one thing since he has been in office. Has yours?

Not really. Congress is yet to take on a serious issue, one that interests Americans across the board, and sit down and solve it in the manner for which they were elected.

If we wanted, we could work out the backlog of legislation sitting in Congress in this forum in less than a week, with democratic vote and all. Heck, I think I will run for office!

You should, I'll move to your area and vote for you!

My congressman promised job creation, nothing has changed in two years. The only time I've heard my congressman say anything was when he rallied for the right of "personhood" at fertilization. Apparently that is more important than the 9.1% rate of unemployment in this state. It is 13.3% in one of his counties. Nothing can or will change with people like this in power.
