Hi VJ Family,

Last March 2012, I had undergone mY medical exam and successfully done it. The validity is until Sept. 2012 (6MONTHS) as it was stated on my passport.

Since our petition was sent back to USCIS-CSC during the interview for re evaluation and still waiting for the result from them this Sept. 2012 too as we were told, IS THERE A WAY THE MEDICAL BE PREVENTED FROM EXPIRING OR MAYBE WOULD THEY OR US COULD EXTEND THE VALIDITY OF MY MEDICAL? Especially that we dont know yet the exact date when can we hear from the USCIS for result this Sept., only we know that my medical is valid until Sept.7, 2012.

Thank you so much for any info you could give us.

You can't keep it from expiring. They will probably request a new medical examination from you.

i think you should worry about your NOA2 expiration...NOA2 expired within 4months since they approved it. my advice is to call or email the embassy and ask what going to happen if your NOA2 expired or if they could extent it. regarding your medical you should state that also in your email..goodluck

The longer it takes to happen the more you'll appreciate it when it does!

Hi.. Our papers were all sent back to the USCIS for re evaluation, the embassy has no control of it anymore. We were just told to communicate directly with the USCIS-CSC. We are hoping we could hear from them this Sept. Thank you for your advice. But still I'll try to call embassy about NOA2. Thanks much! :)

The medical has to be up do date, and by the time you enter the US, the medical has to be done within a certain amount of time before entering. You cannot extend the validity on medical, only have a new one done. The same goes for when entering the US where USCIS will accept a medical from home country IF it's less than 12 months old. Outside that time frame, and you'll have to get a new one.

Worry more about the petition itself than the medical right now.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days

no worries about the NOA2 as you already gone & done your interview. worry about your case being sent back and hope it gets approve before the medical validity expires otherwise you will have to redo it again.
