Lets assume residence is in metro manila. How much money does one need a month with one child to live comfortable.

Houses in manila or condo is around 25 thou 40 thou, excluded electric bill, water bill.thats living comfortably.

We used to to rent a condo for 30 thou, and my husband transfer me and our kids into a subd.house, its very small but it cost 25thou.

I told my husband that i will go back home to my province, but not to live with my parents but to rent a house, cos a descent house in the province cost 5 thou pesos only.

Kinda hard to pinpoint without knowing ones tastes so here you go.

Let me give you some examples from what I know living in the Philippines prior as well as friends that live there now and one friend supporting his now wife while she lived in Manila. You can decide based upon what your fiancees life was prior to you and how you want her to live now.

Rent for my American friend and his fiancee is 20,000p monthly in Quezon City. So call that $500.

Electric for one Aircon running 12 hours a day is about $175

Water is $40

Cable and Internet is about $40.

Food: he is American but he spends about $400 there.

My friend brought his now wife to his style of living and was sending her $1500 a month which I thought was too much. Her rent was same as my other friends at $500. He now regrets sending her so much as she feels he is rich, which he is not.

My fiancee lives in Bohol. She lives in a modest one room place at $20 a month. Yes $20. All of her expenses total about $100 a month living in Bohol.

I do know that you can rent in Manila for about $60 a month. Food is proportional to what she is accustomed too. Family of 2 food in Manila should be about 6-8 dollars a day.

Soooo there you have it... Hope this helps

Just wanted to get others thoughts. I send 20000php a month. And through our K1 process, I'm trying to save as much as possible for their arrival. I want to send enough for leisure, but not too much. She does well with budgeting, but i know, she feels a little bad that i am paying for everything and says she is too shy to ask. she has been getting better at asking when needed, but mostly for baby items. again, just a random topic. thanks.

i live in Metro Manila. my apartment costs 6,500 per month. water is 200-400 a month and electricity is 2000-3000 a month. for me these expenses are already too much. i live with my brother and support him and i pay for everything. i don't obliged my fiance to give money because i don't want to ask him money and i have my job. i think for a woman with a baby, it can cost the same as mine or maybe less. if it wasn't for my brother, i will be paying way less than what i spend now.

Average apartments are NOT 25,000 to 30,000 in Manila, that is a for a nice western style apartment. A simple condo, but still safe should cost 10,000 to 15,000.

But yes Manila is expensive for sure. Electricity there is ridiculous. But food and other things are still quite cheap.
