Pissed by the doc at the medicals

Has anyone had any problem at the medical with a few tattoos? The doctor looked so surprised and have them all written down in the report, with details like descriptions and location of the tattoos. Anyone get problems at the interview or medical having similar experience? Will our application get denied just because my fiancé has a few tattoos? I know this sounds ridiculous but we are worried!! Any advice is appreciated!

I have tattoos all over my arms and down one leg (yes, penguins), and they were not even mentioned.

Are the tattoos your fiance has anything unusual, violent or could be alluding to gang culture?

The Dr. is making sure they are not gang tattoos. Hence the detailed description. Tattoo by itself is not a problem.

good.gif Bingo. Around 1995, even for a B2 visa, they would ask you about tattoos on your body for that same purpose.

Off-Topic2.gif I had no issues and I have many tattoos.

Making notes about a patient's tattoo(s) should only be because of the possibility of a particular sketch and it's location being gang related.

Recently saw on the news (if I recall correctly) a Central/South American man being denied entry to the US (on a K1/B2/spousal visa) because CBP suspected this male to be associated with very violent gang due to his tatts. You can try a Google search if you want to know more.

What's considered gang related really?

Having tattoos of a dog, a few stars and meaningful words don't sound gangster to me! Thanks for the advice guys, but we just can't stop worrying, so much was written on that report! SIGH

If you are not a member (or former) of a gang, you have nothing to worry about.

They know what kind of tattoos are related to gangs and which aren't.

He said that he wasn't in a gang. We don't know for sure if he is or was in a gang.

For what's it worth, I live in San Diego and have many Mexican friends. Most of them know what tattoos are associated with gangs. Hard to imagine any Mexican whi is not in a gang accidentally getting a few gang tattoos.

Weird. I have a large tattoo of the Trinity knot in between my shoulders. I hope that symbol is not considered gang related. lol.

Sound terrorism-related to me. Or, at least to some government bureaucrats.
