I've read here that some people contact CSC after a period of time to find out what's going on with their

K-1 application, or to check to make sure their RFE was received at CSC. I've read that some people actually talk to a live person, while others get a recording. But.. I've also read here that you can't contact CSC and that if you do then it doesn't do you any good anyway. I was going to wait until they had my K-1 application for 90 days and then I was going to try and call them to see if I could find out status of our K-1. I got my N0A1 in early August and haven't been too concerned since we haven't really waited for a super long time. But then others who got their N0A1's after I got mine are already approved and moved onto NVC and some onto the consulate or embassy. My fiance and I are still waiting. I know each case is different and there's no rhyme or reason as to why one K-1 gets approved sooner or faster than others. Can I contact CSC? Will it do any good to call them? What's the number that I should call? Thanks in advance.

Have you signed up with the USCIS for E-mail notification. If you have, then everytime your file is moved there will be a notice (called a touch here) on your case. It is a great way to see if the file is collecting dust or someone is actually doing some work. Don't get too excited about touches unless the timeline for your case is approaching the approval timeline of others.

But, trying to call CSC is near to impossible. Their internal numbers are unlisted and the only number available is the 800 number. Those that answer the phone have usually little knowledge of your case and look on the internet the same as you can do.

The best thing is to be patient and find things that you should do to prepare for the arrival of your fiancee.

You cannot call the CSC. You can call the USCIS "misinformation" line but it won't help you. They will tell you not to call back until your NOA1 date is 30 days past their posted processing dates. As of October 12, they are processing I-129F applications from April 11, 2006.

Better to sit tight and not compare your case to others - your day will come and you are well within the processing timeframe.

Calling the USCIS 800 line is a waste of time. You will talk to a live person who cannot tell you anything and who cannot communicate with CSC to check on a question.

The best way to check up on your own situation is to register on the USCIS website so you can see your petition online. USCIS Online

Once there, you can choose to receive email notifications on actions to your petitions. However, you cannot depend on their email system as it is unreliable. You need to log in at the end of each day and check the "last updated" date. Every time that date changes is a "touch". Many times you will be touched but not get an email. It is still helpful to see when they are working on your petition. Those touches get very exciting after you haven't been touched for a while!

And of course, be ready for a NOA2 in the mail because it can also arrive without warning at any time. So that gives you two things to check each day.

Good luck!!!!
