US Embassy is still reviewing my files?

I called the US Embassy today to find out the status of my visa. The agent told me that they still have my passport and that they are still reviewing my case. I was kind of confused because the consul told me that I was approved and they did not ask for any additional documents. After my interview, I was just told to wait for a text message to pick up my visa... What to do? My fiance already booked our flight.

There is always a final review of the file before printing/issuing the visa, for my wife it took them 9 days before the visa was issued and 4 or 5 days after that for 2GO to deliver the package and her passport.

Booking the flight before receiving the visa is a gamble...

I did that but I booked it almost 2 months after the interview date.

perhaps the human that answered the phone is confused on terms.

For clarity, call the DoS Hotline when they are open (# in my profile, left panel)

then ask for casefile status and also ask:

1. Is my casefile in administative review?

2. Is my casefile in administrative processing ?

When I called I just asked if my visa was already forwarded to 2go Mall of Asia (that's the courier service). She said they still have my passport and still reviewing my case and added that after they're done reviewing it I will receive a text message from them. I asked her how long should I wait, she said it's a case-to-case basis.

According to your profile its has only been 10 days since your interview, and like said before a final review is SOP. You should be receiving your visa very soon.
